Abstract We present new observations of the central 1 kpc M82 starburst obtained with James Webb Space Telescope near-infrared camera instrument at a resolution θ ∼ 0.″05–0.″1 (∼1–2 pc). The data comprises images in three mostly continuum filters (F140M, F250M, and F360M), that contain [Fe ii ] (F164N), H 2 v = → 0 (F212N), 3.3 μ m polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) feature (F335M). find prominent plumes PAH emission extending outward from region, together network complex filamentary...

We present a study of new 7.7-11.3 $\mu$m data obtained with the James Webb Space Telescope Mid-InfraRed Instrument in starburst galaxy M 82. In particular, we focus on dependency integrated CO(1-0) line intensity MIRI-F770W and MIRI-F1130W filter intensities to investigate correlation between CO content 7.7 11.3 features from polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) 82's outflows. To perform our analysis, identify clouds using archival $^{12}$CO($J$=1-0) NOEMA moment 0 map within 2 kpc center...

Abstract In this paper we study the filamentary substructure of 3.3 $\mu$m PAH emission from JWST/NIRCam observations in base M 82 star-burst driven wind. We identify plume-like within with widths ∼50 pc. Several those plumes extend to edge field-of-view, and thus are at least 200–300 pc length. region outflow, vast majority (∼70 per cent) is associated plumes. show that structures contain smaller scale ‘clouds’ ∼5–15 pc, they morphologically similar results ‘cloud-crushing’ simulations....

Magnetic fields (B fields) have an impact on galaxy evolution multiple scales. They are particularly important for starburst galaxies, where they play a crucial role in shaping the interstellar medium (ISM), influencing star formation processes and interacting with galactic outflows. The primary aim of this study is to obtain parsec-scale map dust polarisation B field structure within central region NGC253. This includes examining relationship between morphology fields, outflows, spatial...

Abstract We present a near-infrared (NIR) candidate star cluster catalog for the central kiloparsec of M82 based on new JWST NIRCam images. identify candidates using F250M filter, finding 1357 with stellar masses >10 4 M ⊙ . Compared to previous optical catalogs, nearly all (87%) we are new. The have median intrinsic radius ≈1 pc and up 10 6 By comparing color–color diagram dust-free yggdrasil population models, estimate that A V ∼ 3−24 mag, corresponding 2.5 μ m 0.3−2.1 mag. Abstract We characterize the local (2 kpc sized) environments of Type Ia, II, and Ib/c supernovae (SNe) that have recently occurred in nearby ( d ≲ 50 Mpc) galaxies.
