In this letter, a novel compact ring dual-mode with adjustable second-passband for dual-band applications are presented. A resonator two different geometric dimensions derived and designed to have identical fundamental the first higher-order resonant frequencies, establish appropriate couplings in structure. Moreover, proposed filter has smaller size as compared basic topology of stopband filters stepped-impedance-resonator (SIR) filters. The measured performance is good agreement simulated response.

We developed a speech/gesture interface that uses visual hand-gesture analysis and speech recognition to control 3D display in VMD, virtual environment for structural biology. The reason we used particular context was set the necessary constraints make our robust develop command language optimally combines gesture inputs. Our uses: automatic (ASR), aided by microphone, recognize voice commands; two strategically positioned cameras detect hand gestures; (AGR), of computer vision techniques...

At any one time, animals are simultaneously bombarded with many sensory stimuli, but they typically choose to respond only a few of them. We used multidimensional analysis determine the behavioral responses six species leeches stimulation, as affected by identity, diet, state and stimulus location. Our results show that each tested while not feeding displayed remarkably similar behaviors in response tactile stimulation surface body. When feeding, location was most reliable factor determining...

Abstract This paper presents a level set topology optimization method in combination with the reproducing kernel particle (RKPM) for design of structures subjected to design-dependent pressure loads. RKPM allows arbitrary placement discretization and approximation unknowns. attractive property implicit boundary representation given by provides an effective framework handle loads moving particles on without need remeshing or special numerical treatments. Moreover, (RK) smooth Young’s modulus...

Abstract We introduce an immersed meshfree formulation for modeling heterogeneous materials with flexible non-body-fitted discretizations, approximations, and quadrature rules. The interfacial compatibility condition is imposed by a volumetric constraint, which avoids tedious contour integral complex material geometry. proposed approach formulated under variational multiscale based formulation, termed the method (VMIM). Under this framework, solution approximation on either foreground or...

We develop an immersed meshfree method under a variational multiscale framework for modeling fluid–structure interactive systems involving shock waves. The proposed enables flexible non-body-fitted discretization, approximations, and quadrature rules solid fluid subdomains. interfacial compatibility conditions are imposed by volumetric constraint, which avoids the tedious contour integral interface tracking. reproducing kernel particle (RKPM) is employed both sub-systems, allows arbitrary...

Triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) multiscale structures are meta-structures known for their low-weight-high-strength property. Because of delicate geometry and sheet-networks feature, a fine mesh is required finite element analysis, which computationally expensive conventional direct numerical simulation. To resolve this issue, study develops neural network enhanced method (NN-FEM) parameterized TPMS meta-structures. The homogenization approach replaces the complicated representative...

A level set topology optimization (LSTO) using the stabilized nodally integrated reproducing kernel particle method (RKPM) to solve governing equations is introduced in this paper. This methodology allows for an exact geometry description of a structure at each iteration without remeshing and any interpolation scheme. Moreover, useful characteristics RKPM such as easily controlled order continuity ability freely place particles design domain wherever needed are illustrated through stress...

In this paper, we present a statistical generative model of scenes with multiple objects that can be efficiently used for tasks related to video search, browsing and retrieval. Instead using combination weighted Euclidean distances as shot similarity measure, base the retrieval process on likelihood frame under trained query sequence. This allows automatic separation balancing various causes variability, such occlusion, appearance change motion. previous work, usually required complex user...

<title>Abstract</title> The material point method (MPM) can effectively addresses fragmentation issues over mesh-based due to its meshfree nature but faces numerical inaccuracies such as cell-crossing instability and Galerkin inexactness inherent in framework. utilization of previously developed variational consistent (VC) corrections with smooth reproducing kernel (RK) approximations has proven effective preventing ensuring exactness, albeit limited continuum bodies.
