In this work, a simulated corrosion electrolyte was employed in order to assess the effect of sealing treatment on resistance arc sprayed zinc coatings atmospheric environment. Arc-sprayed Al coating was sealed with epoxy resin using the cathode electrophoresis method. The anti-corrosion performance of coatings studied by means a 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution test at 40 °C. For comparison, boiling water also performed under same conditions. results show that thickness about 20 microns can entirely cover open pores and decreases surface roughness as-sprayed coating, even permeates into gaps among lamellar splats from pores.
