We present magnetostriction and magnetization measurements of a cobalt ferrite Co0.8Fe2.2O4 single crystal. observe unusual behaviour in the magnetic hard axis crystal which manifests jump curve at critical field. This first order process (FOMP) is explained as an anisotropy driven transition visible temperatures lower than 150 K. By analyzing constants we found that higher constant K2 dominates energy.
