Background: Idiopathic genu valgum beyond physiological limits may require treatment, which is based on age, growth remaining, and the magnitude of deformity. There no consensus clinical, or radiologic evaluation, indications, management idiopathic valgum, can range from observation to surgical treatment using various modalities. If available, such guidelines will help surgeons offer optimal their patients. The aim our study was establish an expert evaluation valgum. Methods: An...
We present a family with numerous first cousin marriages and several members affected spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia tarda progressive arthropathy causing severe crippling deformity. The extensive pedigree provides strong evidence for autosomal recessive inheritance.
Introduction Dyggve–Melchior–Clausen (DMC) syndrome is a rare autosomal recessive type of skeletal dysplasia. It characterized by the association progressive spondyloepimetaphyseal dysplasia (SEMD), microcephaly, mental retardation (MR), and coarse facies. The radiographic appearance generalized platyspondyly with double-humped end plates lace-like iliac crests are pathognomonic distinctive DMC syndrome. disorder results from mutations in DYM gene mapped 18q12-12.1 chromosomal region....
We report a case of osteopetrosis with bilateral nonunited femoral neck and coxa vara in 7-year-old boy. There was history traumatic transcervical left fracture unsuccessfully treated by internal fixation. performed subtrochanteric valgus osteotomy. K-Wire fixation failed on the right side due to hardness bone. Finally, an angular plate after predrilling offered stability. Bone union achieved both sides, resulting full recovery normal physical activity.
Results of different lengthening procedures in 51 patients with unilateral congenital short femur are reported. Emphasis is placed on stability the hip joint, which a prerequisite for any femoral procedure. Combination and tibia shortening techniques can correct discrepancies ≤30 cm. For complicated cases, ring fixator, offering knee joints, preferred to devices. Femoral focal deficiency should always be performed distally.
Limb salvage and reconstruction are often challenging even more so in the limited resource setting. The purpose of this narrative review is to explore strategies for addressing unique obstacles opportunities limb reconstructive surgery resource-limited environments globally.
The clinical and radiological results of distraction lengthening in cases with posttraumatic radial club hand were evaluated. Five patients (3 men 2 women, average age 21 years) traumatic shortening had nonunited fracture distal end radius bone loss short after malunited or growth arrest epiphysis, the was 4.2 cm) treated using Ilizarov fixator hybrid fixation technique. Patients evaluated clinically for function appearance, radiologically union. follow-up 25 months. preplanned length...
From 1972 to 1991, 50 Chiari procedures were performed in 41 patients. The follow-up period ranged from 3 years 24 and months, with an average of 7 years. Age the patients at operation averaged 10 6 months (3 1 month 28 months). best results obtained older than age. There was no statistical relationship between technical details osteotomy (angle Chiari, displacement distance femoral head) results.
Using distraction osteogenesis in metacarpal lengthening has been well documented pediatric patients but a limited trials older patients. Fewer studies have assessed the success of procedure through outcome measure scores. The aim this study is to report case three metacarpals skeletally mature adult with amputated middle fingers and patient’s perspective on her satisfaction Michigan hand outcomes questionnaire [1].
We report a case of Dyggve-Melchior-Clausen syndrome, skeletal dysplasia with short trunk dwarfism and mental retardation. A Chiari pelvic osteotomy was performed to halt hip subluxation on both sides. The patient evaluated after 9 years 10 months. progressive lateral migration the femoral head seemed have been unaffected by this type osteotomy.
Background: One of the most typical wrist degenerative arthritis patterns is scapholunate advanced collapse (SLAC). Hyperextension or axial loading along with ulnar deviation carpal supination mechanism causing ligament injury. Additionally, a perilunate injury may leave behind insufficiency. Objective: to perform systematic review and metanalysis comparing outcomes patients SLAC managed by four corner fusion (4 fussij) those treated proximal row carpectomy regarding functional outcome,...
