Abstract Silicon‒nickel alloy (Si‒Ni) was first used for fabricating continuous carbon fiber reinforced ceramic matrix composites by reaction melt infiltration process. Based on Si‒Ni phase diagram, 66.7 at.% chosen, which has a lower liquidus temperature of 1115°C. The C/Si‒Ni‒C were infiltrated at 1270°C‒1390°C, and the prepared composite consists C, SiC, NiSi, NiSi 2 phases. density is higher than 2.29 g/cm 3 their open porosity below 3%, indicating completely alloy. exhibits...
The overarching goal of the present multiscale investigation is to unearth kinetics and mechanisms corrosion borosilicate glasses in hyper-alkaline (pH = 13) environments as a function their chemical composition. Accordingly, series 3- 6-component have been designed starting from Na2O–B2O3–SiO2 ternary, wherein compositional complexity has added systematic tiered approach, finally resulting composition well-known international simple glass (ISG). Tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAH), one...
Abstract One major factor impeding the design of nuclear waste glasses with enhanced loadings is our insufficient understanding their composition–structure–durability relationships, specifically in environments form expected to encounter a geological repository. In particular, high field‐strength cations (HFSCs) are an integral component most streams. However, impact on long‐term performance glassy remains mostly undeciphered. this context, present study aims understand some HFSCs (i.e., Nb...
Achieving thinner and higher performance display/substrate glasses transparent glass-ceramics with tunable properties requires a precise control of acid-etching process, thus necessitating comprehensive understanding glass composition–structure–dissolution behavior relationships in acidic medium. Unfortunately, the literature on this subject has been focused only narrow set chemistries. Therefore, consensus mechanisms that govern dissolution multicomponent silicate over broad compositional...
Two dimensional (2D) MoS2 has been extensively studied as an efficient low-cost electrocatalyst for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and CO2 reduction reaction. Although the edges of are known most active sites, terraces sites can also be due to existence defects. Designing edge-isolated terrace-isolated platforms essential separately investigate their activities, which not done before. In our current project, those have achieved on monolayer by using photolithography or E-beam lithography...
