Auxin controls multiple aspects of plant growth and development. However, its role in stress responses remains poorly understood. acts on the transcriptional regulation target genes, mainly through Response Factors (ARF). This study focuses involvement SlARF4 tomato tolerance to salinity osmotic stress. Using a reverse genetic approach, we found that antisense down-regulation promotes root development density, increases soluble sugars content maintains chlorophyll at high levels under...

Abstract Model organisms have been instrumental in advancing discoveries plant biology. Tomato ( Solanum lycopersicum ) is distinguished as a prominent model system due to its well-characterized genetics and economic significance crop. Micro-Tom (MT), an ornamental dwarf tomato variety, was adopted by the research community short stature, fast life cycle, ease of genetic transformation, ample genomic resources. Over last 30 years, use MT has illuminated various facets development, including...

Sugarcane (Saccharum sp) is one of the most promising crops and researchers have sought for renewable alternative energy sources to reduce CO2 emission. The study strategies, which allow breeders in selection superior genotypes many traits simultaneously, important. Therefore, objectives this were: i) apply path analysis better understand relationship between lignocellulosic technological quality with total recoverable sugars (TRS) ii) use several multivariate indexes predict genetic gain...

The objective of this study was to select a population sugarcane clones develop energy cane cultivars. genotypic means 124 were estimated for the yield-related traits: mean number stalks per plant (NS), stalk weight (MSW), fiber content (FIB), lignin (LIG), and sucrose in juice (SPC). From these data, traits tons hectare (TCH), (TFH) (TLH) estimated. clone effects statistically significant (p <0.01) all except TLH LIG. Clone UFV09251 had highest values for TFH TCH. UFV09270 high (15.04%)...

The tropical forage legume Stylosanthes humilis is naturally distributed in the acidic soils of tropics. However, data concerning role low soil pH control S. seed germination remains limited. Recently, we have demonstrated that triggers increased ethylene production during seeds, concomitantly with higher root penetration into soil. Our finding points an important as a signal allowing through interaction signalling pathway. Herein, discuss how induces changes on hormonal physiology.

Fourteen Brazilian Gir sire families with 657 daughters were analyzed for quantitative trait loci (QTL) on chromosome 6 affecting lactose and total solids.Cows sires genotyped 27 microsatellites a mean spacing between markers of 4.9 cM.We used 1% chromosome-wide threshold QTL qualification.A yield was found close to marker MNB66 in three families.A solid identified BMS2508 percentage, DIK1182, two MNB208, four families. These QTLs could be selection animals dairy production systems.

Abstract Main conclusion The effect of elevated [CO 2 ] on the growth tomato plants with reduced GA content is influenced by developmental stage. increase carbon dioxide (CO ) in atmosphere during last decades has aroused interest function this gas and development plants. Despite known association between CO concentration ([CO ]) plant growth, its effects gibberellin (GA), hormone that regulates de major aspects are still poorly understood. Therefore, we evaluated primary metabolism drastic...

ABSTRACT Background and aims Trichomes are epidermal structures with an enormous variety of ecological functions economic applications. Glandular trichomes produce a rich repertoire secondary metabolites, whereas non-glandular create physical barrier against biotic abiotic stressors. Intense research is underway to understand trichome development function enable breeding more resilient crops. However, little known on how enhanced density would impinge leaf photosynthesis, gas exchange energy...
