Purpose: The Omicron subvariant BA.1 of SARS-CoV-2 was first detected in November 2021 and quickly spread worldwide, displacing the Delta variant. In this work, a characterization variant Mexico is presented. Methods: time to fixation BA.1, diversity sublineages, population density, level virus circulation during inter-wave interval were determined analyze differences spread. Results: began spreading week December became dominant next three weeks, causing fourth COVID-19 epidemiological...

We prepared a series of 10 carbamates derivatives based on two common antiprotozoal drugs: metronidazole (1–5) and secnidazole (6–10). The compounds were tested in vitro against set amitochondriate protozoa: Giardia duodenalis Trichomonas vaginalis. Compounds 1–10 showed strong activities, with potency values the low micromolar-to-nanomolar range, being more active than their parent drugs. Metronidazole carbamate (1) was most series, nanomolar activities G. (IC50 = 460 nM) T. vaginalis 60...

The relevance of intermolecular noncovalent Cl ··· Cu interactions in the magnetic and biological behavior copper complexes derived from amino amides is studied. Crystallography studies show that these tend to stack, favoring (hydrogen bonding Cl). However, presence substituents at C10 C13 positions regulates supramolecular structures 2 . Thus, 93, 293, 353 K demonstrate exchange favored only by Cu–Cl interactions. Moreover, those with ferromagnetic present cytotoxic activity. Natural bond...

Abstract We report the synthesis of arsenic heterocycles derived from saccharides 2 – 4 and AsCl 3 . Compounds 5 6 are stable in aqueous solutions, DMSO, or methanolic solutions. However, NMR HPLC studies revealed that intramolecular trans‐esterification processes leads to dynamic equilibria. Theoretical three arsenates two arsoranes participate these equilibria account for experimental spectroscopy results. Through correlation between theoretical 13 C spectra, we proposed speciation...
