This study reports a new class of photocatalytic hybrid clay nanocomposites prepared from low-cost sources (kaolinite and Carica papaya seeds) doped with Zn Cu salts via solvothermal process. X-ray diffraction analysis suggests that Cu-doping Cu/Zn-doping introduce phases into the crystalline structure Kaolinite clay, which is linked to reduced band gap kaolinite typically between 4.9 8.2 eV 2.69 for Cu-doped 1.5 Cu/Zn (Nisar, J.; Århammar, C.; Jämstorp, E.; Ahuja, R. Phys. Rev. B 2011, 84,...
A new fluorinated chalcone (E)-3-(2,6-difluorophenyl)-1-(4-fluorophenyl)prop-2-en-1-one was synthesized in 90% yield and crystallized by a slow evaporation technique. Its full structural characterization purity were determined scanning electron microscopy, infrared spectroscopy, gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, 1H, 13C 19F nuclear magnetic resonance, thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), differential calorimetry (DSC), Raman microspectroscopy, UV-Vis absorption single crystal X-ray...
The quenching of chlorophyll fluorescence caused by photodamage Photosystem II (qI) is a well recognized phenomenon, where the nature and physiological role which are still debatable. Paradoxically, to reaction centre supposed be alleviated excitation mechanisms manifest as quenchers. Here we investigated time course PSII in vivo vitro that picosecond time-resolved (quencher formation). Two long-lived processes during were observed formed at different speeds. slow-developing process...
Chalcones belong to the flavonoids family and are natural compounds which show promising larvicidal property against Aedes aegypti larvae. Aiming obtain a synthetic chalcone derivative with high activity, herein, bromochalcone derivative, namely (E)-3-(4-butylphenyl)-1-(4-bromophenyl)-prop-2-en-1-one (BBP), was designed, synthesized extensively characterized by 1H- 13C- nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), infrared (IR), Raman spectroscopy, mass spectrometry (MS), ultraviolet–visible...
Melanoma is the most aggressive type of skin cancer and a relevant health problem due to its poor treatment response with high morbidity mortality rates. This study, aimed investigate tissue changes an improved photodynamic therapy (PDT) when combined optical clearing agent (OCA) in cutaneous melanoma mice. Photodithazine (PDZ) was administered intraperitoneally solution OCA topically applied before PDT irradiation. Due resultant refractive index matching, OCA-treated tumors are more...
The use of ultraviolet (UV) and blue irradiation to sterilize surfaces is well established, but commercial applications would be enhanced if the light source replaced with ambient light. In this paper, it shown that nanofibers can explored as an alternative methodology UV for bacterial inactivation. It demonstrated indeed possible using spun poly[lactic-co-(glycolic acid)] (PLGA). This work shows PLGA scaffolds promote photoinactivation Staphylococcus aureus Escherichia coli bacteria or...
The success of the onychomycosis treatment is directly associated with factors such as choice medication, administration route, and pharmaceutical formulation. Photodynamic therapy (PDT) an emerging promising technique indicated for treatment. For this application, main challenge efficient delivery photosensitizer (PS). Curcumin widely used a PS, however it unstable molecule to develop formulation good penetration into nail plate, maintaining stability curcumin. In study, molecular...
Introduction Until the first two weeks of October 2019, 1.489,457 probable dengue cases have been reported in Brazil, with an incidence rate 708.8 per 100 thousand inhabitants. Still same period, 123.407 chikungunya were reported, 15 deaths confirmed by clinical and epidemiological criteria. Regarding Zika, that 10.441 recorded, northeast region highest number notifications, followed midwest one. It is well known current policies to control vectors those arboviruses are not effective....
Raman microspectroscopy is an elegant and efficient tool for chemical analysis of the samples since it provides information about structure, conformation, changes molecules both in pharmaceutical formulation biological tissue. It especially useful containing water absorption not dominating spectrum, as happens case infrared spectroscopy. Analysis several formulations onychomycosis treatment shown example application pharmaceutics. Differences between are to be linked their efficiency...
