1. Hyaluronan from mesothelioma fluid, rooster comb and streptococci was examined by rotary shadowing electron microscopy. All preparations showed extensive branched networks, but high-viscosity hyaluronan networks were essentially infinite, with no individual 'molecules' that not integrated via multiple points into the meshwork. Low-viscosity hyaluronan, recovered after papain digestion of occasional single filaments independent main aggregates, some which themselves other aggregates. 2. is...

Abstract Many phase transformations associated with solid-state precipitation look structurally simple, yet, inexplicably, take place great difficulty. A classic case of difficult is the nucleation strengthening precipitates in high-strength lightweight aluminium alloys. Here, using a combination atomic-scale imaging, simulations and classical theory calculations, we investigate θ′ onto template structure aluminium-copper alloy system. We show that this transformation can be promoted samples...

Size-dependent compositional variations under different cooling regimes have been investigated for ordered L12-structured gamma prime (γ′) precipitates in the commercial powder metallurgy Ni-based superalloy RR1000. Using scanning transmission electron microscope imaging combined with absorption-corrected energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, we discovered large differences Al, Ti and Co compositions γ′ size range 10–300 nm. Our experimental results, coupled complementary thermodynamic...

Lead sulfide has been grown from single molecular precursors within a polymer matrix to form networks of PbS nanocrystals. These materials are model systems for the processing polymer–nanoparticle layers flexible hybrid photovoltaic devices. Processing is achieved by spin coating solution containing precursor and onto substrate, followed heating film decompose precursor. The effect chemistry explored using lead(II) dithiocarbamates, their 1,10-phen adducts, xanthates with different alkyl...

The anomalous cyclic coarsening behaviour of γ′ precipitates after ageing at 1073 K has been investigated for the low misfit commercial powder metallurgy (PM) Ni-based superalloy RR1000. Using scanning transmission electron microscope (STEM) imaging combined with absorption-corrected energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy, elemental segregation as a function experimentally observed secondary precipitates. Elemental EDX spectrum revealed nanoscale enrichment Co and Cr depletion Al Ti...

We demonstrate a facile and scalable electrochemical approach to exfoliate graphite, which permits in situ hydrogenation of the resultant graphene via solvated NR4+ graphite compound quaternary ammonium-based deep eutectic solvents. Spectroscopic studies reveal presence sp3 C–H bonds hydrogenated graphene. The resulting materials consist micrometre-sized predominantly monolayer few layers thick graphenic flakes. A large band gap (∼4 eV) further establishes high level hydrogenation. It is...

This paper aims to illustrate which variables affect compensation by examining the factors that influence in data science industry. A total of six independent are considered this paper: experience level, employment type, country residence, remote ratio, company location, and size. The recoded raw data, converted textual into numerical then tested for multicollinearity. results show weak correlations between variables. Finally, these were used analyse dependent variable wage using a linear...

The structures of covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are typically determined through modeling based on powder X-ray diffraction. However, the intrinsically limited crystallinity COFs often results in structural determinations low fidelity. Here, we present real-space imaging an extensively studied two-dimensional imine-based COF. Contrary to conventional understanding that this COF features uniform hexagonal pores, our observations reveal presence two distinct sets pores with differences...
