The SITELLE Imaging Fourier Transform Spectrometer was successfully commissioned at the Canada France Hawaii Telescope starting in July 2015. Here we discuss commissioning process, outcome of early tests on-sky as well ensuing work to optimize modulation efficiency large optical path difference and image quality instrument.

Traditional transmissive polarimetric methods can be used for wavelengths above 123 nm where birefringent materials transmit light and create significant birefringence. Below nm, no suitable solution is known to measure the four Stokes parameters on a large wavelength range. Therefore, we study here an innovative reflective (rather than transmissive) polarimeter working in far ultraviolet (FUV) range from 90 130 nm. We take advantage of phase shift created by reflections as well different...

POLLUX is a project of high-resolution UV spectropolarimeter for the prospective LUVOIR space observatory. It will work in range 90-400 nm with R ≥ 120000. The baseline design consists 3 channels representing echelle spectrographs dedicated polarimeters, customized echelles and freeform-based concave holographic gratings. We study requirements manufacturing assembly precision. consider three performance criteria related to spectral resolving power, calibration stability, gratings diffraction...

High-resolution spectropolarimetry is a useful astronomical technique, in particular to study stellar magnetic fields. It has been extensively used the past but mostly visible range. Space missions equipped with high-resolution spectropolarimeters working ultra-violet (UV) are now being studied. We propose concept of polarimeter temporal modulation and allowing perform Stokes IQUV measurements over full UV + Visible The purpose this article describe concept, two prototypes bench developed on...

High-resolution spectropolarimetry is a technique used to study many astronomical objects including stellar magnetic fields. It has mainly been on ground for optical and, more recently, infrared (IR) observations. Space mission projects ultra-violet (UV) high-resolution spectropolarimetry, such as Pollux onboard LUVOIR proposed NASA, are being studied in Europe under CNES leadership. Bringing spectropolarimeter into space means that the instrument should be prepared environment temperatures....
