The results of both a line-broadening study on ceria sample and size–strain round robin diffraction methods, which was sponsored by the Commission Powder Diffraction International Union Crystallography, are presented. prepared heating hydrated at 923 K for 45 h. Another to correct effects instrumental broadening annealing commercially obtained 1573 3 h slowly cooling it in furnace. measurements were carried out with two laboratory synchrotron X-ray sources, constant-wavelength neutron...
Measurements of grain growth in nanocrystalline Fe reveal a linear dependence the size on annealing time, contradicting studies coarser-grained materials, which find parabolic (or power-law) dependence. When exceeds $\ensuremath{\sim}150\mathrm{nm}$, smooth transition from to nonlinear kinetics occurs, suggesting that rate-controlling mechanism for depends size. The linear-stage rate agrees quantitatively with model boundary migration is controlled by redistribution excess volume localized cores.
Apatite-type lanthanum silicates of general formula La9.33+2x/3(SiO4)6O2+x have appeared recently as a new promising class oxide ion conductors with potential applications electrolytes for solid fuel cells (SOFCs). They been shown to demonstrate relatively high conductivity at moderate temperatures well low oxygen partial pressures. In this paper, the diffusion pathways and conduction mechanism ions in these phases are reinvestigated. This is done by means atomic scale computer modeling...
This article derives the interatomic potential for TeO2 system and presents first results of molecular dynamics simulations pure structure.
We have successfully synthesized the highly c-axis-oriented polycrystals of apatite-type lanthanum silicate by reactive diffusion technique. When La2SiO5/La2Si2O7 couples were isothermally heated at 1773–1873 K for 5–100 h, apatite readily produced in form a layer interfacial boundaries. The annealed characterized using optical microscopy, micro-Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffractometry, and electron probe microanalysis. product layers composed prismatic crystallites, with their elongation...
Na-V-P-O glasses are promising cathode materials for sodium ion batteries, and yet a thorough understanding of their atomic scale behavior has so far been elusive. In this work we integrate structural electrochemical experiments with first-principles large-scale machine learning-accelerated molecular dynamics to elucidate quantitatively the interplay among structure, bonding, mobility on space time scales unprecedented extensions. We unravel existence broad V coordination distribution...
We have prepared the highly c-axis-oriented polycrystalline material of apatite-type La9.50Si6O26.25 by isothermal heating sandwich-type La2SiO5/La2Si2O7/La2SiO5 diffusion couple at 1873 K for 50 h. The resulting polycrystal was characterized using optical microscopy, X-ray diffractometry, and impedance spectroscopy. annealed mechanically processed, thin-plate electrolyte consisting textured obtained. oxide-ion conductivity along c-axis steadily increased from 2.0 × 10–2 S/cm to 7.9 with...
We have prepared the highly c-axis-oriented polycrystalline material of Si-deficient apatite-type lanthanum silicate by isothermal heating sandwich-type La2SiO5/La2Si2O7/La2SiO5 diffusion couple at 1873 K for 100 h. The resulting polycrystal La9.50(Si5.87□0.13)O26, where □ denotes a vacancy in Si site, was characterized using optical microscopy, X-ray diffractometry, and impedance spectroscopy. annealed mechanically processed, textured thin-plate electrolyte obtained. ionic conductivity (σ)...
Experimental and thermodynamic modelling of the ZrCxOy solid solution.
A high-resolution X-ray diffractometer devoted to the study of imperfect materials (mainly oxides and ceramics) is presented. It based on a rotating anode generator, four-bounce monochromator, five-movement sample holder curved position-sensitive detector (PSD). This setup allows rapid acquisition reciprocal-space map (in less than 10 h) even for very poorly diffracting materials. The two-dimensional instrumental profile calculated taking into account each optical element in beam path....
This study focused on parents’ satisfaction with the special education and care services proposed to their child autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Data were collected in three regions of France, using a questionnaire designed for purpose this study. Among 530 families contacted, 212 filled (response rate = 40.8%). Results showed that parents globally satisfied providers’ involvement motivation, but they felt not involved enough child’s individualized program, communication providers was...
The reflection flat-sample asymmetric geometry is an attractive set-up for powder diffraction measurements, as compared to either conventional Debye–Scherrer or symmetric Bragg–Brentano geometries. Combined with grazing- fixed-incidence-angle X-rays, it suitable surface-structure thin-film texture analysis. Furthermore, allows curved position-sensitive detectors be used in situ experiments. In this paper, the major systematic error sources connection are reviewed. It confirmed that...
We have computed second and third nonlinear optical susceptibilities of two crystalline bulk tellurium oxide polymorphs: $\alpha$-TeO$_{2}$ (the most stable phase) $\gamma$-TeO$_{2}$ phase that ressembles the more to glass phase. Third order phases are orders magnitude larger than $\alpha$-SiO$_{2}$ cristoballite, thus extending experimental observations on glasses case compounds. While electronic lone pairs Te contribute those large values, a full explanation anisotropy susceptibility...
The oxide-ion conductivity was successfully improved for the apatite-type lanthanum silicate polycrystal by combining beneficial use of germanium doping and texturing methods. We synthesized highly c-axis-oriented polycrystalline material La9.33(Si0.87Ge0.13)6O26 isothermal heating sandwich-type La2Si2O7/La2(Si0.833Ge0.167)O5/La2Si2O7 diffusion couples at 1873 K 50 h. resulting subsequently characterized using optical microscopy, micro-Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffractometry, impedance...
The atomic pair distribution function (PDF) as obtained from X-ray or neutron total scattering experiments has proved to be powerful in obtaining valuable structural information for many complex functional materials, they amorphous crystalline. In the case of measurements made with X-rays and samples containing more than one kind atom, usefulness PDF is, however, somewhat hampered because lack an exact simple expression relating it structure materials. Only approximate relationship exits,...
The properties of $x{\mathrm{Na}}_{2}\mathrm{S}\text{\ensuremath{-}}(100\text{\ensuremath{-}}x){\mathrm{GeS}}_{2}$ glasses, which represent promising systems for all-solid-state batteries, are thoroughly investigated from a variety experimental and theoretical techniques. ionic conduction is measured as function composition. It reveals powerlike behavior with threshold composition found at low Na content. In contrast, temperature evolution suggests typical Arrhenius indicative motions...
