We present new polarimetric radar data for the surface of north pole Moon acquired with Mini‐SAR experiment onboard India's Chandrayaan‐1 spacecraft. Between mid‐February and mid‐April, 2009, mapped more than 95% areas polewards 80° latitude at a resolution 150 meters. The polar region displays backscatter properties typical Moon, circular polarization ratio (CPR) values in range 0.1–0.3, increasing to over 1.0 young primary impact craters. These higher CPR likely reflect roughness...

The current study investigates the potential of multi‐temporal RADARSAT ScanSAR Narrow Beam B (SCNB) data to monitor rice crop growth and condition where special emphasis was given signature analysis crop. area is located in Baleshwar Bhadrak districts Orissa. temporal variations radar backscatter all land‐cover classes were analysed as a function time. Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) coefficient (σ0) shows significant behaviour large dynamic range during its period, which due interaction...

Abstract The characteristic temporal backscattering signature of rice crop grown under flooded condition was used to estimate acreage for a region in West Bengal, India. To date ERS-1 Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data, one acquired within 30 days transplantation and another after 30-40 found be optimum early estimation acreage. distinctly separable from forest, tree vegetation, village/urban areas. Misclassification observed mainly with water, waterlogged areas fallow fields.

This work deals with multisensor data fusion to obtain landcover classification. The role of feature-level using the Dempster-Shafer rule and that data-level in MRF context is studied this paper an optimally segmented image. Subsequently, segments are validated classification accuracy for test evaluated. Two examples optical images a synthetic aperture radar image presented, each set having been acquired on different dates. Classification accuracies technique proposed compared those some...

To develop an operational methodology for estimating soil moisture and crop biophysical parameters to generate a cover map, backscattering signatures of vegetation canopies are investigated using multitemporal Radarsat synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data over predominantly cotton-growing area in India during low peak growth stage. A simple parameterization the water-cloud model with volumetric content (m/sub v/) leaf idex (LAI) is used simulate microwave coefficient (/spl sigma//sup 0/), as...

Abstract. Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) sensors have great potential for a wide range of agricultural applications, owing to their capability all-weather observation. It is particularly useful in tropical regions Asia where most the crops are grown rainy season. The use SAR images assessment rice-planted area operational stage Asian countries its characteristic temporal signature however, applications estimation biophysical plant variables challenging, especially crop scattering and...
