Crystal-growth velocity in metallic melts has been reported by others to increase monotonically with undercooling. Nevertheless, such an observation is not predicted conventional growth theory. In this work, the melt of Zr${}_{50}$Cu${}_{50}$ studied address problem measuring over a wide range undercooling up 325 K. A maximum observed at 200 K instead monotonic literature. We find that planar or dendrite theories can explain value velocity, but location far less than seen experiment. With...

This paper concerns the degree of indirect reduction in a burden rising substantially an oxygen blast furnace. It studies pellet, sinter and mixture both different cases. The experiments on single particle load softening to investigate microstructural evolution burdens during melting process. results show that impacted behaviour. In case low reduction, slag phase substrate myrmekitic iron structure were formed periphery area molten burden, whereas disperse island wüstite centre area. Both...

The OBF process is widely studied as an alternative ironmaking process, due to the social pressure of energy and environment at present. A comprehensive mathematical model established, which based on material exergy balances. parameters with different oxygen enriched blast were calculated through model. calculation results demonstrated that balance carbon input in decreased by 6.7% (OBF-I) 22.4% (OBF-II) compared TBF process. Also, industrial consumption increased from 185.88 m3 228.32...

Industrial waste fly ash and ordinary Portland cement (PO42.5) were used as the main raw materials, Ca(OH) 2 alkali activator, modified rosin soap foaming agent, glass fiber reinforcing agent. A physical technology was chosen to fabricate a cement-based foam composite. The effects of water-to-binder (W/B) ratio addition on performance composite studied. structure formation reinforcement mechanism discussed, optimal formulation determined, which provides new technical approach utilize improve...

Steel plants produce significant amounts of dust and sludge during iron steel production. These wastes contain valuable elements, such as Fe, Cr, Ni, C, K Na should be handled properly to prevent them from polluting the environment. In order utilise BOF fine dust, effects on cold bonded pelletising, solid state reduction melting behaviours composite pellets made ore anthracite with added were investigated at laboratory scale. The was found improve compressive strength wet green carbon...

The partially stabilized zirconia ceramic samples were fabricated using MgO stabilizer. The solid solution and migration process of stabilizers in grains under working temperature was studied by XRD, SEM EDS.Results show that after 1710 °C×2 h sintering, stabilizer the sample didn't solid-solute completely, part enriched position impurity SiO 2 to generating forsterite, stability reach highest; With increasing heat preservation time 1540 °C, stabilization completed 8 h.
