Septic shock is a leading cause of acute kidney injury (AKI). Endotoxins and cytokine levels are associated with the occurrence severity AKI, different blood purification devices available to remove them from circulation. One such device, oXiris, hollow-fibre filter that clears both endotoxins cytokines. Due limited evidence, clinical use this device not currently advocated in guidelines. However, clinics do regularly there critical need for guidance on application it sepsis without AKI.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is characterized by hyperinflammation and coagulopathy. Severe cases often develop respiratory distress, requiring mechanical ventilation with critical progressing to acute distress syndrome. Control of has been proposed as a possible therapeutic avenue for COVID-19; extracorporeal blood purification (EBP) modalities offer an attractive mean ameliorate maladaptive inflammation. With this work, we evaluated the longitudinal changes systemic inflammatory...

Severe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is characterised by hyperinflammatory state, systemic coagulopathies, and multiorgan involvement, especially acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). We here describe our preliminary clinical experience with COVID-19 patients treated via an early initiation of extracorporeal blood purification combined heparinisation support.

Abstract Introduction: Our understanding of the COVID-19 disease has been steadily evolving since original outbreak in December 2019. Advanced is characterised by a hyperinflammatory state, systemic coagulopathies and multiorgan involvement, particular respiratory distress. We here describe our initial experience with treating patients based on early initiation extracorporeal blood purification, heparinisation support. Methods: 15 were included; 2 females. monitored real-time several...

Background and aims
Malnutrition cachexia are frequent in head neck cancer (HNC) patients. These complications occur as a result of the but worsened by surgery, radiotherapy or chemotherapy that further challenge oral intake also airway obstruction.
Methods
We present case 82-year-old male with nasopharyngeal carcinoma, severe malnutrition following multimodality therapy difficult airway. Abstract Background The ACEF II score has been proposed as a parsimonious, alternative, operative mortality risk prediction model for cardiac surgery. External validation is warranted to establish its use. Aim primary goal was evaluate the performance surgery stratification. We also tested discriminatory power classify patients in need of prolonged postoperative respiratory support and hospitalisation. Methods evaluated 743 Cardiac Surgery – median age 65 (range 20–80 years), 27.4% females -...

Abstract Background: Transthoracic device closure (TTDC), also known as a Hybrid procedure, has been proposed an alternative, less invasive approach compared to open-heart surgery for the treatment of ventricular septal defect (VSD). Case Presentation: We present our first national case TTDC in 6-month-old female baby with muscular 8mm defect, 3 mm atrial enlarged right and left ventricle dilated pulmonary artery complicated by severe hypertension.Treatment consisted two banding attempts at...
