Abstract Fast pyrolysis experiments of larch sawdust were conducted in a conical spouted‐bed reactor to study the influences reaction temperature, inlet gas velocity, feeding rate, and particle size on product yield oil quality. For first time, optimal conditions determined for various operations such increase quality oil. The results demonstrate that biomass size, velocity all affected oil, this order.

A fundamental understanding of the complex hydrodynamic characteristics in a reactor and its pyrolysis reaction field is required to elucidate physical phenomena occurring bubbling fluidized bed (BFB) pyrolyzer. Specifically, bubble behavior very important factor for hydrodynamics, solid mixing, consequent reaction. Accordingly, this study performed modeling simulation BFB pyrolyzer using computational fluid dynamics method with an Eulerian–Eulerian approach kinetic theory. The were also...

In this study, the hydrodynamics of conical spouted bed reactor was examined to find out stable spouting regime and appropriate gas residence time. And effects pyrolysis reaction temperature for production bio‐oil in a were scrutinized by fast experiment. Stable hydrodynamic operating ranges identified evaluation pressure drop curve RMS analysis. The yield reached maximum 50.8 wt % at 500°C, while char decreased as increased. Also, non‐condensable increased when water content lowest, 26.1wt...

In the palm oil industry, fresh fruit bunch (FFB) is used to make crude oil. During manufacturing process, empty (EFB), which accounts for more than 20 wt % of FFB, generated as a byproduct. Although large amounts EFB are every year in Malaysia, treated waste material because commercial technologies thermochemical conversion into renewable energy still development. Hence, if robust method found, will be an appealing source. this study, fast pyrolysis was conducted laboratory‐scale...

The present project for developing a robot fish is aimed to make an eco-friendly monitoring water pollution and quality in domestic major rivers. In line with that, the numerical study using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) carried out investigating swimming characteristics of biomimetic fish. Unsteady Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes (URANS) formulation applied complex turbulent flow fields generated by movement study, caudal fin shape focused its contribution thrust or drag force...
