Abstract. A revision of the Mexican species belonging to tribe Senecioneae chemically studied so far, shows that genera Senecio and Packera (subtribe Senecioninae), Barkleyanthus, Pittocaulon, Psacalium, Telanthophora Tussilagininae) contain pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PAs) eremophilane derivatives as their main secondary metabolites. However, from Roldana Robinsonecio no PAs have been isolated. special case is genus Pseudogynoxys in which neither nor eremophilanes are reported.
