The interest in engine indicated torque estimation plays an important role the automotive industry. In this study, optimized Luenberger sliding mode observer is proposed based on easily available crankshaft angular speed of a four-cylinder spark ignition (SI) engine. Especially, new applied to track and estimate New European Drive Cycle (NEDC). Convergence proven through Lyapunov stability theory. experimental results show that estimated technique can effectively has higher accuracy steady state.
