Abstract Headspace gas chromatography is frequently used for aroma profiling thanks to its ability naturally exploit the volatility of compounds, and also provide chemical information on sample composition. Its main advantages rely simplicity, no use solvent, amenability automation, cleanliness extract. In present contribution, most effective sampling (dynamic extraction), separation (multidimensional chromatography), detection (mass spectrometry) techniques untargeted analysis are exploited...
Abstract Pyrolysis processes are an alternative to minimize the environmental problem associated agrifood industrial wastes. The main product resulting from these is a high‐value liquid product, called bio‐oil. Recently, use of comprehensive two‐dimensional chromatography (LC × LC) has been demonstrated as useful tool improve characterization water‐soluble phases bio‐oils, considering their complexity and high water content. However, precise composition bio‐oils different byproducts still...
Activated carbons derived from rice husk pyrolysis (biochar) were prepared by chemical activation at different biochar/K2CO3 proportions in order to assess its capacity as adsorbent. The activated material was characterized X-ray diffraction (DRX), Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), the Brunauer, Emmet, and Teller (BET) method. Barret, Joyner, Halenda (BJH) method functional density theory (DFT), presenting interesting texture properties, such high surface area (BET 1850...
Although several methods for the analysis of nitrogen compounds in diesel fuel have been described literature, demand rapid, sensitive, and robust analyses has increased recent years. In this study, a comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatographic method was developed identification quantification samples. The performed using standard addition conducted chromatography coupled with fast quadrupole mass spectrometry. This study is first to report samples without fractionation. type...
Polychlorodibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs), polychloro-dibenzofurans (PCDFs), dioxin-like (DL), and non (NDL) polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are currently regulated in food feed within the European territory (EU 2017/644-771). The confirmatory methods of analysis for checking compliance with maximum levels (MLs) these involve either historically-established GC-magnetic sector high-resolution mass spectrometry (GC-HRMS) and, more recently, GC-triple quadrupole operating tandem mode (GC-QQQMS/MS)....
Rice husks were processed in a laboratory-scale fluidized bed reactor with SiC bed. With the objective of smaller volumes and lower operational costs scale-up, elevated feed rates ca. 875 g/h explored, equivalent to rate per area 35 kg/m2 min carrier gas biomass ratios 0.8 wt/wt. Temperatures 450, 525, 600 °C, heights 4.9 6.5 cm tested. Experiments sand bed, poorer heat conductor than SiC, conducted as well. In these high conditions, maximum organic phase yield 31 wt% was obtained at highest...
The valorization of rice husk biochar obtained by pyrolysis was studied production high quality activated carbon.Activated carbon (AC) chemically treated K 2 CO 3 , used as sorbent phase in bar adsorptive microextraction followed comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography coupled to a quadrupole mass spectrometer analysis (BAµE/GC×GC-qMS) for trace carbazole commercial diesel. The prepared AC characterized N adsorption, SEM-EDS and pH PZC .Assays nitrogen adsorption isotherm...

As a renewable energy source, lignocellulosic biomass is of particular interest in the context transition to produce biofuels or valuable chemicals. For this purpose, pyrolysis most suitable conversion process yielding three phases, py-gas, bio-oil, and bio-char. However, direct use bio-oil fraction limited due its high oxygen water contents, acidity, thermal instability. Therefore, processes conditions are optimized improve quality produced bio-oil. Advanced technologies have been developed...
