Hydroxyapatite (HAp) and hydroxyapatite/multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) composites were obtained by the co-precipitation method, followed ultrasound-assisted microwave radiation thermal treatment at 250 °C. X-ray diffraction (XRD) confirmed presence of a hexagonal phase in all samples, while Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy elucidated interaction between HAp MWCNTs. The photoluminescent technique revealed that composite with non-functionalized MWCNTs present blue...
Zeolites are not often used directly as photocatalysts. Their framework and nanocavities have served support or hosts for photoactive materials traces of transition metals functioning sites catalysing decomposition oxidation reactions in the gas phase. Research this area has been limited to a few synthetic zeolites context, efforts directed preparation new zeolite-based photocatalysts, when nature there is an abundance with properties yet be discovered. We report application natural...
Colloidal silver nanocubes in solution were analyzed by the Z-scan technique resonant and non-resonant regimes. Three different systems with particle sizes of 56, 99 215 nm, concentrations 0.378, 0.831 0.715 mg/mL, respectively, obtained polyol method. Nonlinear excitation samples was performed laser pulses 26 ps, at a repetition rate 10 Hz, using three wavelenghts (355, 532 1064 nm), exciting only electronic part optical nonlinearity, avoiding induced thermal loading samples. Whenever...
In this research, changes in several characteristics of partially reduced titania were studied. The reduction process used made it possible to gradually observe the material depending on amount reducing agent used. We NaBH4 impregnate commercial TiO2 with isopropyl alcohol. Impregnated nanoparticles dried and thermally treated a nitrogen flow obtain blue samples. Thorough spectroscopic characterization showed that oxygen atoms from hydroxyl groups, as well surface, lattice was consumed. This...
Zinc-doped hydroxyapatite obtained by a simple co-precipitation method achieved photocatalytic removal > 80% of Bisphenol A.
Nonlinear optical refraction and absorption have been measured on Si nanocrystals grown by plasma-enhanced- chemical-vapour-deposition. Strong nonlinearities were found at 830 nm 1552 nm. Different behaviours, depending the pump-pulse duration, observed
Abstract The global presence of pharmaceutical pollutants in water sources represents a burgeoning public health concern. Recent studies underscore the urgency addressing this class emerging contaminants. In context, our work focuses on synthesizing composite material, Fe x O y /ZIF-14 ( qtz ), through streamlined one-pot reaction process, as an adsorbent for diclofenac, environmental contaminant frequently found freshwater environments and linked to potential toxicity towards several...
The global presence of pharmaceutical pollutants in water sources represents a burgeoning public health concern. Recent studies underscore the urgency addressing this class emerging contaminants. In context, our work focuses on synthesizing composite material, FexOy/MAF-32, through streamlined one-pot reaction process, as an adsorbent for diclofenac, environmental contaminant frequently found freshwater environments and linked to potential toxicity towards several organisms such fish...
MnxZn1-xFe2O4 (x = 0-1) solid solution was prepared using the TREG-mediated solvothermal method. 10-12 nm spherical superparamagnetic particles (except for ZnFe2O4) were obtained. At room temperature, ferrites have lower magnetic saturation (Ms) than magnetite. However, at 10 K, it is precisely opposite. DRX and EXAFS showed that incorporating Zn2+ ions in tetrahedral A-sites provokes a redistribution of Mn Fe octahedral B-sites mixed spinel structure. For Zn concentrations from x 0.5 below,...
Cubic silver nanoparticles were analyzed by Z-scan technique in the resonant and no-resonant regimes. These results done with picosecond pulse as function of size concentration samples.
The effect of plasmonic excitation Ag/SiO2 catalysts was studied in the preferential CO oxidation presence H2 (PROX) at low temperature. Catalysts with 5 wt% silver loading were prepared by wet impregnation aqueous and basic media. TEM analysis indicates Ag nanoparticles a broad particle size distribution which can achieve both, good PROX activity temperature interaction visible light. Photo-assisted reaction 35 °C enhance O2 conversions; however, greater improvement found for conversion....
