Hydro-distilled essential oils from Acorus calamus rhizomes collected six different geographical zones in the northwest Himalayan region of Uttarakhand have been analyzed by GC and GC/MS. All differed their qualitative quantitative make up, although beta-asarone was major constituent all them.
