Abstract We present confusion-limited SCUBA-2 450 μ m observations in the COSMOS-CANDELS region as part of James Clerk Maxwell Telescope Large Program Ultra Deep Imaging EAO Survey. We model dust evolution in Milky Way-like galaxies by post-processing the IllustrisTNG cosmological hydrodynamical simulations order to predict dust-to-gas ratios and grain size distributions. treat grain-size-dependent growth destruction processes using a 64-bin discrete without spatially resolving each galaxy. Our broadly reproduces observed dust--metallicity scaling relation nearby galaxies. The distribution is dominated large grains at $z\gtrsim 3$ small-grain abundance rapidly increases...

We investigate a kinematic scaling relation between the baryonic mass and flat velocity dispersion, i.e. mass-velocity dispersion (MVDR), from brightest cluster galaxies (BCGs) to galaxy clusters. In our studies, of BCGs is mainly estimated by photometry. The profiles are explored with integrated field unit (IFU) Mapping Nearby Galaxies at Apache Point Observatory (MaNGA). For first time, we reveal two significant results 54 MaNGA BCGs: (1) profiles; (2) tight empirical on BCG-cluster scale...

Abstract Although it is generally accepted that massive galaxies form in a two-phased fashion, beginning with rapid mass buildup through intense starburst activities followed by primarily dry mergers mainly deposit stellar at outskirts, the late time growth of brightest cluster (BCGs), most universe, still not well understood. Several independent measurements have indicated slower rate than predictions from theoretical models. We attempt to resolve discrepancy measuring frequency BCGs...
