Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), also known as forever chemicals, exhibit exceptional chemical stability resistance to environmental degradation thanks their strong C-F bonds nonpolar nature. However, widespread use persistence have a devastating impact on the environment. This review examines roles of PFAS in tribological applications, specifically lubricants lubricating systems. article focuses conventional advanced lubricants, including ionic liquids (ILs) modern automotive...

Undoped and Fe-doped CuO thin films with different weight ratios (3, 6, 9 wt.% of Fe) were deposited onto glass substrates using the sol-gel spin coating technique. X-ray diffraction analysis these samples indicated that all polycrystalline, crystallite size decreased doping concentration. As revealed by scanning electron microscopy, Fe increased average particle improved distribution in films. The bandgap undoped film was tuned from 3.48 to 2.79 addition Fe, reasonable explanations have...

This study investigates the effectiveness of micron- and nano-sized molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) particles as additives in lithium (Li) grease under electrified conditions. By systematically applying electric current high temperatures experimental parameters, we evaluated frictional wear performance formulations. Our results showed that micron MoS2 (M-MoS2) outperform their nano counterparts reducing friction range room temperature to 40 °C. Meanwhile, at 80 °C, (N-MoS2) provide better...

Molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) has been used in a variety of lubrication products due to its highly tunable surface chemistry. However, the performance MoS2-derived tribofilms falls short when compared other commercially available antiwear additives. The primary objective this study is improve tribological MoS2 as an additive for lithium-based greases. This was achieved by functionalizing particle with hydrophilic molecules, such urea. Experimental results indicate that urea-functionalized...
