Immunoblot has been evaluated as a diagnostic method for congenital toxoplasmosis. Like enzyme-linked immunofiltration assay (ELIFA), immunoblot can be used to compare antibody patterns and determine if the antibodies are transmitted by mother or synthesized fetus infant. Among 48 infants tested, 27 had toxoplasmosis 21 were suspected but none. Reproducibility, sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive values in immunoglobulins (Igs) G+M+A and/or G+M 90, 92.6, 89.1, 92.4%, respectively....

Background: People with Huntington’s disease (HD) have been observed to lower rates of cancers. Objective: To investigate the relationship between age onset HD, CAG repeat length, and cancer diagnosis. Methods: Data were obtained from European network REGISTRY study for 6540 subjects. Population incidence was ascertained GLOBOCAN database obtain standardised ratios cancers in Results: 173/6528 HD subjects had a The age-standardised rate all population 0.26 (CI 0.22–0.30). Individual showed...

The shear design of concrete slabs is still an unsolved problem. following study presents experimental and numerical investigations on the behaviour reinforced (without reinforcement) under concentrated loads. small thick 10 cm were tested in this study. Experimental tests conducted to quantify strength associated failure modes. influence several variables was addressed such as boundary conditions, four supported side instead two slabs, loading plate length. A series eight six presented....

Water is an important weathering factor that can play a role with respect to rock discontinuities, and thus mass behavior. The increase of rainfall (frequency intensity) highlights new problems concerning stability. aim this research analysis the importance water on alteration. This study will discuss how causes discontinuity degradation, which affect stability mass. accurate water-rock alteration based upon two aspects, one hand intrinsic properties water, other hand, response present...

Abstract Anchored wire meshes are applied worldwide as protective structures against rockfall. The mechanical performance of a mesh is evaluated through laboratory tests, but these generally not representative the field conditions. This paper presents simple tool to predict force-displacement response an anchored panel out-of-plane load, extending experimental standard punch test characteristic values (ISO 17745, ISO 17746, UNI 11437) Discrete element simulations used provide analytical...
