Using the Global Trade Analysis Project (GTAP) computable general equilibrium model, we analyze economic impacts of grain export disruptions caused by Russia-Ukraine War during first year hostilities. The simulation results indicate that these not only affect Ukraine and Russia but also generate significant across other world regions. is projected to experience largest impact on its own economy, with a real GDP loss $859 million. In contrast, Russia's decline $3.8 million, primarily due much...

This study investigates the impact of Chinese high-speed rail (HSR) systems on its international tourism demand. A panel data set 21 countries over period 1997 to 2012 is analysed using dynamic modeling following classical demand model. The empirical examination confirms overall HSR positive, but small elasticity station may imply negligible influence large number stations.

This study investigates the impact of high-speed rail investment on economy and environment in China using a computable general equilibrium (CGE) model with focus period 2002-2013. The analysis is implemented dynamic recursive framework capturing long-run capital accumulation labor market equilibrium. A national level was simulated through direct drivers including land use conversion, output expansion, cost reduction, productivity increase, transport demand substitution induced demand....

This paper investigates two fundamental questions related to the social impact of high-speed rail (HSR): (1) does development HSR infrastructure lead exclusion certain groups? and (2) what factors exclude users from using HSR? Based on a comprehensive survey 4,924 passengers who chose conventional services in China, both binary multinomial logit analyses were conducted examine extent mode choice departed Chongqing was affected by various factors, including socioeconomic train service...

In rice, OsABA8ox encodes abscisic acid (ABA) 8′-hydroxylase, which catalyzes the committed step of ABA catabolism. The contribution catabolism in root development remains unclear. We investigated role OsABA8ox2 growth and drought response. GUS staining results showed that was expressed mainly roots at seedling stage strongly meristematic zone radicle. expression markedly decreased after 0.5 h polyethylene glycol (PEG) treatment increased rehydration, implying is a drought-responsive gene....

The interest in the socioeconomic impact assessments of high-speed rail (HSR) system is burgeoning as many countries are considering investing such a system. While extensive studies have provided wide range evaluations HSR on impact, primarily from an ex-post perspective, it remains unclear how reliable evaluation outcomes were, given variety data, method and research framework being adopted. This paper provides comprehensive review (HSR), based 242 academic publications. In particular, we...

Abstract Battery electric vehicles (BEVs) have received increasing attention in recent years as BEV technical capabilities rapidly developed. While many studies attempted to investigate the societal impacts of adoption, there is still a limited understanding extent which widespread adoption BEVs may affect both environmental and economic variables simultaneously. This study intends address this research gap by conducting comprehensive impact assessment adoption. Using demand estimates...

High-Speed Rail (HSR) has experienced a rapid development in many countries the world, but how can planners and decision makers better understand regional economic impact of gigantic system remains challenge. This paper introduces comprehensive framework to assess impacts HSR using China as an example. The are evaluated under dynamic spatial computable general equilibrium-modelling framework. This study investigates a fundamental issue of computable general equilibrium (CGE) modeling: are CGE models reliable for measuring the economic consequence analysis disasters? We assess outputs analyses after controlling various modeling factors such as data, type model, and mechanisms via meta-analysis 253 simulations in 57 empirical studies. Our arrives at three major findings. First, we confirm that resilience significantly reduces business disruptions from disasters. Second, results...
