Internet of Things (IoT)-based devices, especially those used for home automation, consist their own sensors and generate many logs during a process. Enterprises producing IoT devices convert these log data into more useful through secondary processing; thus, they require from the device users. Recently, platform sharing has been developed because demand increases. Several marketplaces are based on peer-to-peer (P2P) networks, in this type marketplace, it is difficult an enterprise to trust...
Recent studies have focused on how different styles of homicides will be reflected in the types behaviors committed by offenders at a crime scene. It is suggested that these best understood using two frameworks, expressive/instrumental aggression and planned/unplanned violence, to analyze way offender acts Multidimensional analysis carried out crime-scene actions 70 Korean homicides. The proposed frameworks are found useful classifying homicide offenses, assigning 80% dominant theme. Results...
Abstract Three categories of crime‐scene behaviors (violence, interpersonal involvement, and criminal sophistication) among a group 22 serial single‐victim rapists were studied. Findings indicate that more likely to display higher level criminally sophisticated avoid detection, whereas behave violently engage in some form involvement with their victims. Implications these findings for investigation understanding offenders' behavior are discussed. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
Abstract On the basis of information regarding 276 homicides committed in South Korea between 1987 and 2008, we compared offenders’ victims’ characteristics, injury locations, weapon‐related behavior, offending behavior involving sharp blunt instruments. The victims sharp‐force homicide were much younger relative to those blunt‐force homicide. In addition, instruments more likely be by offenders who lived with victims. Most involved injuries torso, while mainly head injuries. Furthermore,...
We compared a total of 340 sexual assault cases based on offender characteristics, victim and offence behaviours to identify differences among assaults committed by lone, double, groups three or more perpetrators in South Korea. Several were found varying numbers offenders. First, differed with respect age, marital status, employment status. Second, substantial characteristics observed age the victim–offender (v–o) relationship. Third, significant behaviours, including type, planning, method...
Shock heating of the Dhofar 378 (Dho 378) Martian shergottite produced melting, vesiculation, and flow plagioclase, which upon cooling recrystallized into complex textures. Heating experiments on similar Zagami indicate that Dho was shock heated to 1000–1100°C cooled at ∼2.5°C/h. An 39 Ar‐ 40 Ar analysis plagioclase indicates different diffusion domains K/Ca ratios. The lower‐temperature phase defines an Ar‐Ar isochron age 141 ± 32 Ma. higher‐temperature released more but does not define...
The present research aimed to test the cultural generality of asymmetry in perceptions interpersonal knowledge (i.e., I-know-you-but-you-do-not-know-me phenomenon) and explore perceived behavioral variability self versus other as a determinant asymmetry. In Study 1, authors found that beliefs insights was among Koreans, suggesting possible universality phenomenon. 2 extended finding 1 revealed reflects bias, not reality. 3, examined mechanism for it stemmed, part, from difference situational...
Our study investigates differences in sensitivity of dry and wet environment the field biosensing experiment detail depth. The varies by means surrounding conditions silicon nanowire effect transistor (SiNW FET). By examining charged polymer reaction (SiNW), we have discovered that threshold voltage (V(T)) shift change subthreshold slope (SS) are smaller than air. Furthermore, analyzed through modifying electrolyte concentration condition, confirmed V(T) increases low condition phosphate...
Abstract Body transportation is defined as moving the body of victim from scene a homicide to another location. We analyzed data on 513 South Korean cases with convictions compare 104 homicides involving victims’ bodies 409 that did not. Offenders who transported their were significantly younger and more likely be related victims less use sharp instruments blunt or strangle than offenders Victims suffer injuries neck head torso. Finally, have planned offense destroyed evidence. The present...
This study explores the features of sociocultural context experiment classes taught by a science subject teacher. Two on electric circuit for fifth graders were observed and video recorded. The data was also collected through student interviews teacher interviews. Using cultural historical activity theory, we extracted six factors analyzed their interactions. could identify that four cases. First, rules not decided teacher, but formed modified negotiation between students or students....
As first-order optimization methods become the method of choice for solving large-scale problems, solvers based on algorithms are being built. Such general-purpose must robustly detect infeasible or misspecified problem instances, but computational complexity doing so has yet to be formally studied. In this work, we characterize optimal accelerated rate infeasibility detection. We show that standard fixed-point iteration achieves a $\mathcal{O}(1/k^2)$ and $\mathcal{O}(1/k)$ rates,...
Recently, the anchor acceleration, an acceleration mechanism distinct from Nesterov's, has been discovered for minimax optimization and fixed-point problems, but its is not understood well, much less so than Nesterov acceleration. In this work, we analyze continuous-time models of We provide tight, unified analyses characterizing convergence rate as a function coefficient $\beta(t)$, thereby providing insight into accelerated $\mathcal{O}(1/k^2)$-convergence rate. Finally, present adaptive...
Abstract A substantial proportion of children suffer multiple episodes maltreatment over a prolonged period. The cumulative risk is critical to understanding both the nature and effects victimisation. However, limited studies have investigated frequency child factors influencing its recurrence. This study explored detailed characteristics non‐sexual in South Korea determined predicting incidents using data from investigation trial records maltreatment‐related cases 2010 2015. Based on 440...
