Flying fish Cypselurus poecilopterus is a small pelagic resource that plays an important ecological and economic role. However, information regarding the structure of its stock in East Indonesian waters still limited. This study aims to identify based on morphometric, meristic approaches, associated with environmental factors. Fish samples were taken during one fishing season (June-September) 2015 2021 West Papua Seram where Lydakker line passes, using method observation purposive sampling,...

Abstract Larval fishes are a useful metric of marine ecosystem state and change, as well species-specific patterns in phenology. The high level taxonomic expertise required to identify larval species level, the considerable effort collect samples, make these data very valuable. Here we collate 3178 samples fish assemblages, from 12 research projects 1983-present, temperate subtropical Australian pelagic waters. This forms benchmark for assemblage region, includes recent monitoring at coastal...

The recent growth rate and stable isotope composition of larval pilchards, (Sardinops sagax, 6–29 mm standard length), captured in surface near-surface waters, were examined coastal upwelling non-upwelling regions the East Australian Current over two cruises during austral summer 1998/1999. Compared to non-upwelled regions, larvae larger yet back-calculated 2 days before capture was significantly less on both cruises. This surprising result is consistent with slower this species near Japan...
