Despite the outstanding results generally obtained with imatinib mesylate (IM) in treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), some patients show a poor molecular response. We have demonstrated polarization bistability in 1.55 µm vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs).
