We present a study of noise suppression by fusion in fiber-optic gyroscopes based on the source-sharing architecture. A theoretical model is proposed for detailed analysis mechanism. The importance modulation parameters revealed, and optimal strategies are given. Through simulations experiments, we demonstrate that scheme not only suppresses self-noise including relative intensity (RIN) thermal phase (TPN), but also achieves complete elimination environmental disturbances. Up to 5.8-fold...

Temperature variation degrades the performance of fiber-optic gyroscopes. In terms a noise mechanism, we report that thermal phase contributes to dominant effect temperature in large gyroscopes when conventional Shupe is basically suppressed. High-order frequency modulation introduced reduce corresponding variation. A time-varying experiment has been carried out for verification. Compared with eigen modulation, sensitivity reduced by 32 times, which effectively enhances adaptability gyroscope.

In the field of precision measurements, highly sensitive interferometric fiber-optic gyroscopes (IFOGs) hold significant value. However, application IFOGs is constrained by intrinsic noise and environmental disturbances. This study conducts a comprehensive analysis based on conventional phase generated carrier (PGC) algorithm. On basis theory, an improved fusion algorithm proposed in conjunction with light source sharing configuration to suppress primary noise-relative intensity (RIN) reduce...

A highly sensitive portable fiber optic gyroscope has significant value in inertial navigation and geophysical exploration. However, the excessive relative intensity noise (RIN) generated by broadband light sources degrades sensitivity of interferometric (IFOG). To suppress RIN, we propose cooperative four-state modulation scheme based on a source-sharing configuration. Reverse-phase square-wave signals are applied to two minimum configurations. The states configuration cooperatively...
