Renal parenchymal thickness was estimated by using CT in 360 patients with no evidence of renal disease. In each patient, the measurements were normalized to transverse diameter vertebral body and a reference table formulated. The decreases about 10% per decade increasing age both men women. These findings are consistent previously reported based on autopsy material. proposed may be useful as criterion for assessing normal parenchyma CT.

The complex of myxomas, spotty skin pigmentation and endocrine overactivity, or Carney (CNC), is a familial multiple neoplasia lentiginosis syndrome. CNC inherited in an autosomal dominant manner genetically heterogeneous. Its features overlap those McCune-Albright syndrome other (MEN) syndromes. Spotty the major clinical manifestation syndrome, followed by multicentric heart which occur at young age are lethal component disease. Myxomas may also on (eyelid, external ear canal nipple)...

Septal, reticular, nodular, reticulonodular, ground-glass, crazy paving, cystic, ground-glass with cystic decreased and mosaic attenuation pattern characterise interstitial lung diseases on high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT). Occasionally different entities mimic each other, either because they share identical HRCT findings or of superimposition patterns. Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), associated connective tissue disease, asbestosis, end-stage sarcoidosis chronic...

PURPOSE: To develop a technique of projectional computed tomographic (CT) cholangiopancreatography (CTCP). MATERIALS AND METHODS: Sixty-one patients underwent CT for suspected biliary or pancreatic abnormalities. The axial and CTCP techniques included spiral scanning during the portal venous phase thick-slab minimum intensity projections. Visualization extrahepatic bile ducts (divided in five duct segments per patient) was graded blindly on scale 1-5 by consensus two radiologists. Two...

A chronic state of impaired cerebral and cervical venous drainage, termed cerebrospinal insufficiency (CCSVI), has recently been implicated in the pathogenesis multiple sclerosis (MS). We performed a color-coded Doppler sonography case-control study to externally validate CCSVI criteria. We prospectively evaluated consecutive patients with clinically definite MS healthy volunteers using extracranial transcranial sonography. The developed neurosonology criteria for detection were used...

Abstract Purpose To compare the conventional technique of manual planimetry with point counting for estimating liver volume from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data. Materials and Methods This study comprised abdominal MR examinations 38 consecutive patients. Evaluation images showed that size appeared normal in 27 patients increased 11. Liver was estimated using techniques counting. Both were used combination Cavalieri method modern design stereology. A systematic slice sampling procedure...

The pathogenetic mechanisms underlying Bell's palsy remain obscure, despite the extensive relevant research. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies have strongly indicated that facial nerve edema cannot be regarded as sole etiologic factor, because it might persist long after full clinical recovery, or demonstrated in clinically unaffected side healthy controls. aim of this study was to investigate hypothesis a narrow canal implicated pathophysiology palsy.Prospective study.A...

One hundred ten consecutive patients were given either whole (4%) milk, 2% water, barium suspension, or no oral contrast agent before abdominal computed tomography (CT). Results with milk superior to those all other agents for gastrointestinal distention, mural visualization, and pancreas-duodenum discrimination. In bowel loop discrimination, results 4% equal but agents. Whole is an effective low-attenuation agent.
