Acoustic signals, which have been utilized for decades in the spatial localization of objects, found applications fields as diverse sonar underwater navigation, communication, and object detection. Traditional methods often rely on arrays transducers, necessitate use expensive hardware processing algorithms. An emerging alternative is Leaky Wave Antenna (ALWA), inspired by electromagnetic leaky wave antennas. ALWA technology employs a single transducer to emit directional beams that scan...
Diversity, i.e. transmitting multiple replicas of a signal, may mitigate fading in wireless networks. Among other diversity techniques, the space multi-antenna systems is particularly interesting since it can complement forms diversity. The recent cooperative paradigm brings advantages to single antenna networked devices, which, through cooperation and sharing, form virtual arrays. However, complex technique research on this topic still its early stages. This paper aims at providing general...
Deficient air quality in industrial environments creates a number of problems that affect both the staff and ecosystems particular area. To address this, periodic measurements must be taken to monitor pollutant substances discharged into atmosphere. However, deployed system should also adapted specific requirements industry. This paper presents complete monitoring infrastructure based on IoT paradigm is fully integrable current systems. It includes development two highly precise compact...
The Internet of Nano-Things (IoNT) is an emerging paradigm in which devices sized to the nanoscale (nanonodes) and transmitting terahertz (THz) band can become decisive actors future medical applications. Flow-guided nanonetworks are well-known THz networks aimed at deploying IoNT inside human body, among other issues. In these networks, nanonodes flowing through bloodstream monitor-sensitive biological/physical parameters dispatch data via electromagnetic (EM) waves a nanorouter implanted...
The Naval Ship Code (NSC) was enacted in 2009 to standardize regulations for NATO member naval forces, and a study commissioned by the Spanish Navy General Staff (EMA) aimed identify factors that influence onboard personnel’s ability move during an evacuation process. This validated soundness of safety protocols implemented on navy vessels highlighted impact certain characteristics embarked military contingent, such as body mass index, age, seniority. It also found could act distinctive...
Implicit Error Correction (IEC) is a near Video-on-Demand (nVoD) scheme that trades bandwidth utilization for initial playback delay to potentially support an infinite number of users. Additionally, it provides error protection without any further increase by exploiting the implicit redundancy nVoD protocols, using linear combinations segments transmitted in given time slot. However, IEC packet loss weaker at beginning due lack and lower decoding efficiency, resulting worse subjective...
Long-range wireless area networks (LoRaWAN) typically use a simple star topology. However, some nodes may experience connectivity issues with the gateway due to signal degradation or limited coverage, often resulting from challenging environments in sectors such as agriculture, industry, smart cities, grids, and healthcare, where LoRaWAN-based IoT solutions have expanded. The main contribution of this paper is implementation hybrid topology for LoRaWAN that remains fully transparent current...
The extension of the network lifetime Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) is an important issue that has not been appropriately solved yet. This paper addresses this concern and proposes some techniques to plan arbitrary WSN. To end, we suggest a hierarchical architecture, similar realistic scenarios, where nodes with renewable energy sources (denoted as primary nodes) carry out most message delivery tasks, equipped conventional chemical batteries secondary are those less communication demands....
Piezoelectric transducers are widely used for generating acoustic energy, and choosing the right radiating element is crucial efficient energy conversion. In recent decades, numerous studies have been conducted to characterize ceramics based on their elastic, dielectric, electromechanical properties, which improved our understanding of vibrational behavior aided in manufacturing piezoelectric ultrasonic applications. However, most these focused characterization using electrical impedance...
Background Computer Generated Animations (CGA), when applied to three-dimensional (3D) city models (3DCM), can be used as powerful tools support urban decision-making. This leads a new paradigm, based on procedural modeling, that allows the integration of known structures. paper introduces workflow for development high-quality approximations in short time and enables facilities imported from other cities into given model, following specific generation rules. Thus, this provides very simple...
Terahertz-based nano-networks are emerging as a groundbreaking technology able to play decisive role in future medical applications owing their ability precisely quantify figures, such the viral load patient or predict sepsis shock heart attacks before they occur. Due extremely limited size of devices composing these nano-networks, use Terahertz (THz) band has emerged enabling for communication. However, characteristics THz band, which strictly reduce communication range inside human body,...
Cardiovascular events occurring in the bloodstream are responsible for about 40% of human deaths developed countries. Motivated by this fact, we present a new global network architecture system diagnosis and treatment cardiovascular events, focusing on problems related to pulmonary artery occlusion, i.e., situations blockage blood clot. The proposed is based bio-sensors detection bio-actuators releasing appropriate medicines, both types devices being implanted arteries. can be used person...
Nonlinear acoustic signals, specifically the parametric effect, offer significant advantages over linear signals because low frequencies generated in medium due to intermodulation of emitted are highly directional and can propagate long distances. Due these characteristics, a detailed analysis is necessary accurately estimate Time Arrival (ToA) amplitude parameters. This crucial for various communication applications, such as sonar underwater location systems. The research addresses notable...
