With the wide application of electronic health records (EHR) in healthcare facilities, event prediction with deep learning has gained more and attention. A common feature EHR data used for deep-learning-based predictions is historical diagnoses. Existing work mainly regards a diagnosis as an independent disease does not consider clinical relations among diseases visit. Many machine approaches assume representations are static different visits patient. However, real practice, multiple that...

Although fossil evidence suggests the existence of an early muscular system in ancient cnidarian jellyfish from Cambrian Kuanchuanpu biota (ca. 535 Ma), south China, mechanisms underlying feeding and respiration are conjectural. Recently, polyp inside periderm olivooids was demonstrated to be a calyx-like structure, most likely bearing short tentacles bundles coronal muscles at edge calyx, thus presumably contributing respiration. Here, we simulate contraction expansion microscopic...

This study isolated five acid-producing strains (XQ1 and YZ1–YZ4) from naturally fermented pomace of Rosa roxburghii Tratt (RRT) in Guizhou’s karst region. Genetic phenotypic analyses identified XQ1, YZ2, YZ4 as Lactobacillus plantarum (L. plantarum), YZ3 Weissella cibaria, YZ1 Bacillus licheniformis. A comparative evaluation with commercial strain AC revealed that exhibited superior acidification (reaching the stationary phase at 40 h) tolerance to acidic conditions (pH 3.0), ethanol (6%...

In this study, the convolutional neural network (CNN) was implemented to segment rectal cancer in 185 patients, with tumor ROI outlined by a radiologist on multiparametric magnetic resonance images (mp-MRI). The Dice similarity coefficient (DSC) and mean symmetrical surface distance (MSD) values were used evaluate results of proposed algorithm. DSC MSD 0.88 2.2 cm respectively for pre-treatment MR images. transfer-learning model using paired near-end-treatment could also lead acceptable...

Motivation: The study is motivated by need to improve rectal cancer treatment planning through deep-learning-based analysis of multiparametric MRI, replacing inconsistent and labor-intensive manual tumor delineation. Goal(s): aims develop a deep-learning algorithm for automated segmentation in MRI images response predictions. Approach: A two-tiered U-net architecture with attention gates, optimized cross-validation, was applied multi-parametric data from 198 patients. Results: This approach...

Expression PD-L1 in diverse tumor types has been widely discussed, while there little research about intrinsic-PD-1. P-S6 an important downstream effector PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway. Our study was focus on investigating PD-L1/PD-1/ p-S6 protein expression and aimed to illustrate their relationship nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC).
