Abstract The paper presents results of wedge splitting tests (WST) for high-strength concrete performed in a laboratory and an attempt to develop numerical model the test. Characteristics concretes as well experimental setup WST are presented. simulation is Simulia Abaqus software outcomes compared values.
Nondestructive tests of road pavements are among the most widely used methods pavement condition diagnostics. Deflections under a known load commonly measured in such tests, e.g., with use falling weight deflectometer (FWD). Measured values allow to determine material parameters structure, corresponding obtained results, by means backcalculations. Among factors that impact on quality results is accuracy deflection measurement. Deflection basins small differences displacement may correspond...
The paper presents three methods for defining a finite cylindrical-type domain element analysis of an elastic multi-layered half-space subjected to rotationally symmetric vertical load distributed over circular area, thus providing mechanistic model flexible road pavement. For sets boundary conditions the ensure consistency between maximum deflection and exact calculated value with compromising accuracy key strain values. first case uses standard support at boundaries – fixed in direction...
The article investigates the impact of applying a dynamic computational model that considers inertia forces on pavement deflections under rapidly changing loads over time. This study is particularly relevant to modelling falling weight deflectometer (FWD) testing. Initially, examines deflection values obtained from models with varying frequencies. In this context, considering was significant for load durations shorter than 0.04 s. such cases, results static and analyses differed...
The main purpose of the paper is to evaluate effect cyclic loading on static bending strength Rb cement-bound sand (CBS). mixture contained graded standard quartz bound with cement added at a proportion 10% weight sand. part experimental research were three-point tests performed rectangular specimens. specimens subjected pre-loading different numbers cycles and force values. Strength then conducted pre-loaded results compared non-preloaded ANOVA statistical analysis method was applied...
Summary Pavements made of cement concrete, used for road constructions, are damaged during use. This applies to both the pavements rural and forest roads with very low traffic loads, as well high loads. One most effective ways repairing concrete is through placing an asphalt overlay on a slab. In order increase fatigue life overlay, mixtures modified fibres. technological solution use FRP (Fiber Reinforced Polymer), innovative material improved properties. The aim this paper assess impact...
Asphalt road pavements are subject to damage under the influence of loads from traffic vehicles and environmental factors. One ways strengthen damaged flexible is apply a cement concrete overlay with continuous reinforcement. The purpose this paper analyze structure reinforcement HFRP composite bars, which laid on existing cracked asphalt layers typical KR3 category. In bars some basalt fibers have been replaced carbon addition resin binders. This do possibility making slabs increased...
