In mice tested for 60 min in photometer-activity boxes, an increased locomotor activity (+50% to +100%) was observed after administration of cocaine (4 mg/kg i.p.). Such hyperactivity markedly enhanced by all benzodiazepines studied (flurazepam excepted), at doses which did not modify spontaneous motility: chlordiazepoxide (1 mg/kg), diazepam 2 clobazam oxazepam (0.25 nitrazepam (0.03 0.25 flunitrazepam (0.015 clonazepam (0.004 mg/kg) and lorazepam mg/kg). These are very low, e.g., 8 20...

Summary A controlled study comparing salbutamol (6 mg/day) to clomipramine (150 mg/day), both given by intravenous infusion, was performed on depressed inpatients (10 per group). The symptomatology evaluated two blind observers at days 0, 5 and 15 using the Hamilton Rating Scale. Both treatments were effective overall but onset of action more rapid.

Nephrotic syndrome in minimal change lipoid nephrosis and focal segmental glomerulosclerosis may be due to alteration of glomerular anionic sites by a lymphokine. Six adults with nephrotic who were resistant treatment corticosteroids immunosuppressants treated cyclosporin A. In three patients had been for 3.5 23 years proteinuria resolved within 12 42 days. Subsequently, these became dependent on four six mean (SD) 24 hour urinary protein decreased from 14.7 (8.4) g 3.6 (0.6) 20 25 days,...

Abstract Type I collagen represents more than 90% of bone matrix. Quantitative analysis cross‐link molecules such as pyridinoline (PYD) provides valuable information on resorption rate. We have studied 37 hemodialysis patients who underwent a systematic transiliac biopsy for histomorphometry study. Eighteen them had tetracycline double labeling, allowing to determine dynamic, in addition static parameters. Measurement serum‐free PYD was performed using new competitive enzyme immunoassay....
