A number of major research questions remain concerning the sources and properties road traffic generated particulate matter. full understanding composition primary vehicle exhaust aerosol its contribution to secondary organic (SOA) formation still remains elusive, many uncertainties exist relating semi-volatile component particles. Semi-Volatile Organic Compounds (SVOCs) are compounds which partition directly between gas phases under ambient conditions. The SVOCs in engine typically...
Abstract. Airborne particles and vapours, like many other environmental samples including water, soils sediments, contain complex mixtures of hydrocarbons, often deriving from crude oil either before or after fractionation into fuels, lubricants feedstocks. Comprehensive 2D gas chromatography time-of-flight mass spectrometry (GC × GC-ToF-MS), offers a very powerful technique that separates identifies compounds in complicated hydrocarbon mixtures. However, quantification identification...
Diesel engine emissions are by far the largest source of nanoparticles in many urban atmospheres, which they dominate particle number count, and may present a significant threat to public health. This paper reviews knowledge composition atmospheric properties diesel exhaust particles, exemplifies research this field through description FASTER project (Fundamental Studies Sources, Properties Environmental Behaviour Exhaust Nanoparticles from Road Vehicles) studied size distribution-and,...
A number of major studies have demonstrated that the SVOC (Semi-volatile organic compounds) within engine emissions derive predominantly from unburned fuel and lubricants, are a contributor to primary atmospheric aerosol containing thousands compounds. The GC × GC-ToF-MS (2 dimensional Gas Chromatography – Time Flight Mass Spectrometry) comprehensive analytical technique was utilized in this study, resolve complex mixtures characterize content eight different commercial including 5 W30...
A novel strategy in DESs for the fabrication of MWCNTs-supported PdSn alloy nanostructures is reported. The prepared PdSn/MWCNT shows remarkably improved electrocatalytic performance towards formic acid oxidation reaction.
Asphalt could suffer hydrothermal ageing in underwater tunnels, which varies its combustion characteristics significantly. The hydrothermally aged asphalt (HA) was comparatively studied with base (BA) and thermal-oxidatively (TA). Major findings are achieved: (1) C=O S=O bonds more abundant TA/HA than BA. HA contains prominent –OH H2O but less substantial aliphatics. And it has lower SO TA by about 20 %, attributing to the oxygen isolation of aqueous immersion during ageing. (2) Remarkably...
General aviation (GA) aircraft generally driven by piston engines (APE) are currently experiencing promising growth globally. To relieve the fossil fuel scarce, application of alternative fuels was extensively encouraged for green GA development. This study aims to investigate suitability using kerosene rocket propellant 3 (RP-3) and its pentanol blends (by 30% volume fraction) in an compression ignition (CI) engine, comparing their combustion performance emission characteristics differences...
Fibrous filters are commonly used for aerosol purification and sampling. The filtration efficiency has been extensively studied using standard generators, yet the literature on experimental data theoretical study concerning of agglomerates from real engines remains scarce. A test system was developed to determine two types (uncoated fluorocarbon coated) loaded by particulate matter (PM) emissions a gasoline direct injection (GDI) engine. results showed that in terms PM mass number increased...
Southwest Ningxia is located at the tectonic and geographical north‐eastern edge of Tibetan Plateau an ideal site for studying continental dynamics plateau building. The Southern Arc Tectonic Belt (SNATB) formed during Cenozoic period as a result collision between India Eurasia was affected by uplift. However, upward growth expansion processes SNATB remain unclear. We investigated Qingshuihe Basin (a Late basin Tianjingshan faults in SNATB) using field geological surveys combined with...
