The stimulation of growth and development crops using ionising radiation (radiation hormesis) has been reported by many research groups. However, specific genes contributing to the plant are largely unknown. In this work, we studied impact low-dose γ-irradiation barley seeds on dynamics gene expression eight cultivars in a greenhouse experiment. Our findings confirmed that candidate stimulation, previously established seedlings (PM19L-like, CML31-like, AOS2-like), significant hormesis...

Human sera or plasma containing acid phosphatases were mixed with rabbit antiserum specific for prostatic phosphatase (PAP) and the resulting primary immune complexes precipitated by ammonium sulfate. The amount of specifically PAP was estimated directly its enzyme activity. Using this assay, as little 10 ng/ml could be determined. Excellent correlation assay method other immunoassays demonstrated.

The development of adaptation strategies for crops under ever-changing climate conditions is a critically important food security issue. Studies barley responses to ionising radiation showed that this evolutionarily ancient stress factor can be successfully used identify molecular pathways involved in range abiotic stressors. In order potential contributors resilience, we examined the transcriptomic profiles seedlings after exposure γ-rays, electrons, and protons. A total 553 unique...

The study of mechanisms plant responses to extreme conditions, particularly, microgravity and ionizing radiation, is crucial for space exploration. Modern biology plants focuses on increasing tolerance harsh conditions environment. Given the limited access International Space Station, we designed assembled 3D clinostat mimicking microgravity, which, in combination with proton irradiation, allows simulating conditions. As a case testing device, studied effect clinostating

Common barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) is an important agricultural crop, when the applied biotechnology methods are used for development of new varieties. One promising biotechnological approaches production haploid plants from anther culture or isolated microspores. The efficiency these androclinium-based depends on developmental phase microspores in anthers. For cereals, optimal stage a mononuclear, highly vacuolated microspore. Considering labor intensity cytological control stages formation...
