Background Osteoporosis (OP) results in weak bone and can ultimately lead to fracture. Drugs such as glucocorticoids also induce OP (glucocorticoid‐induced osteoporosis [GIO]). Bone marrow adipose tissue composition quantity may play a role pathophysiology, but has not been thoroughly studied GIO compared primary OP. Purpose/Hypothesis Chemical shift‐encoded (CSE) MRI allows detection of subregional differences the proximal femur subjects high agreement with reference standard magnetic...
Osteoporosis (OP) is a major disease that affects 200 million people worldwide. Fatty acid metabolism plays an important role in bone health and quality remodeling. Increased marrow fat quantity has been shown to be associated with decrease mineral density (BMD), which used predict fracture risk. Chemical-Shift Encoded magnetic resonance imaging (CSE-MRI) allows noninvasive quantitative assessment of adipose tissues (AT). The aim our study was assess hip or proximal femoral tissue (BMAT),...
Monolithic W-band amplifiers and a novel mixer fabricated using 0.1 mu m pseudomorphic MODFET technology are presented. Single-stage delivered 8.5-dB gain; four-stage units showed 23-dB maximum gain or 4.5-dB noise figure, 21.7-dB associated gain. mixers have shown 11.8 dB conversion loss.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
A unique realization of a single-stage monolithic GaAs W-band amplifier based on InGaAs-AlGaAs pseudomorphic (PM) MODFET devices is reported. This work reflects number significant accomplishments: (1) superior control MBE to grow the PM layers, (2) well-developed electron-beam 0.1 mu m mushroom-gate technology, (3) reliable physical and equivalent-circuit models device behavior, (4) layouts that minimize parasitics, (5) dual-medium circuit approach consisting coplanar waveguide (CPW)...
Introduction Osteoporosis (OP) results in weak bone and can ultimately lead to fracture. MRI assessment of structure microarchitecture has been proposed as method assess quality fracture risk vivo . Radiomics provides a framework analyze the textural information MR images. The purpose this study was radiomic features its abilityto differentiate between subjects with without prior fragility Methods acquisition performed on n = 45 female OP subjects: 15 history (Fx) 30 (nFx) using...
Lower limb compartment syndrome is an unusual complication of the genu-pectoral position in lumbar spine surgery. We report a case patient who was operated genu- pectoral for schwannoma resection. Overweigth and long time surgery could be important predisposing factors. Early diagnosis treatment are mandatory to prevent permanent neurological deficits other possible complications.
Background Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic, inflammatory disease with common musculoskeletal manifestations, notably reductions in bone quality. Bone marrow adipose tissue composition and quantity has been previously linked to quality may play role SLE pathophysiology but not thoroughly studied. Purpose To use magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) investigate proximal femur subregions of untreated patients compared controls treated patients. Study Type Prospective. Subjects A...
Chemical Shift Encoded (CSE) MRI method has been used to highlight subregional differences in the femoral bone marrow terms of fatty acids composition proximal femur, suggesting an important role quality. This requires a certain number echoes (3 for fat/water separation and >8 mapping). Deep Learning (DL) recently applied accelerate, improve quality efficiency CSE-MRI. Our aim was develop DL-CSE evaluate it mapping; using different echo numbers.
Recent studies using Chemical Shift Encoded-MRI have used textural analysis to assess vertebral marrow heterogeneities in postmenopausal women and paraspinal muscle predict its strength. Radiomics provide another means quantify bone on MR images, specifically by analyzing texture, shape, intensity distribution the region of interest. Our aim was investigate whether radiomic features fatty acid composition maps proximal femur improve prediction osteoporotic fracture.
Abstract Diabetes affects metabolism and metabolite concentrations in multiple organs. Previous preclinical studies have shown that receptor for advanced glycation end products (RAGE, gene symbol Ager ) its cytoplasmic domain binding partner, Diaphanous‐1 (DIAPH1), are key mediators of diabetic micro‐ macro‐vascular complications. In this study, we used 1 H‐Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS) chemical shift encoded (CSE) Magnetic Imaging (MRI) to investigate the water‐fat fraction heart...
