The physical mechanism for sensing broadband terahertz (THz) wave via using femtosecond (fs) laser induced gas plasma without any local accessory near the plasma, i.e. THz air breakdown coherent detection, is systemically investigated by utilizing transient photocurrent model. Previous observed results, such as conversion from incoherent to can be numerically obtained. Further calculations and analysis show that it through modification of ionization process, not acceleration freed electrons...

A transient photocurrent model is used to explain terahertz (THz) emission from gas plasma irradiated by two-color laser pulses, with one the second harmonic of other. Taking multiple degrees ionization into account, process at different irradiating pulse width discussed. Then corresponding spectrums and waveforms in this optical are calculated, results showing that keeping energy invariant, ultimate THz can be significantly increased shortening width. Besides, comparison when only...

A transient photocurrent model is used to explain terahertz emission from gas plasma irradiated by two-color laser pulses, with one the second harmonic of other. In this optical process, relative phase between two fields very critical generation efficiency. order find out optimal phase, many cases − π/2 are studied. Results show that case at π/4 can obtain largest intensity.

This paper detailedly studies the transmission probability, spin polarization and conductance of ballistic electron in a nanostructure with periodic magnetic-electric barriers. These observable quantities are found to be strongly dependent not only on magnetic configuration, incident energy wave vector, but also number The coefficient show pattern increase separation between two adjacent fields, resonance splitting increases as periods increases. Surprisingly, it is that can achieved by...

The physicochemical properties of TiO2 are largely dependent on the defects. Here, using first-principles calculations, we report a systematic investigation magnetic Ti-defected rutile systems. results our calculations show that VTi concentration can significantly affect size magnetism, and magnetism weakens with decreasing concentration. A transient photocurrent model is used to explain terahertz emission from gas plasma irritated by two-color laser pulses, with one the second harmonic of other. Taking multiple degrees ionization into account, process at different intensities 1014 W/cm2 1015 discussed. The results show that when Iω ≥ 6 × W/cm2, double plays an important role in producing electrons. corresponding spectra and waveforms are calculated, showing increasing intensity can broaden high frequencies enhance field.

A physical mechanism is described for detection of a terahertz wave from acoustic emission enhancement in gas plasma. First the air ionized by an 800 nm laser pulse, and collision processes are neglected during this pulse time. When gone, electron–molecule electron–ion collisions begin to be considered, energy transferred molecules ions leads temperature rising, thus pressure can achieved. If irradiating plasma with after translation motion electrons enhanced, heating higher achieving larger...

In this paper, we investigated the spin-dependent electron transport in a nonmagnetic nanostructure under influence of [Formula: see text]-doping which can be experimentally doped with metal-organic chemical vapor deposition or molecular beam epitaxy. The numerical results indicate that large spin polarization nearly 100% achieved such structure without external magnetic field due to spin–orbit interactions and it controlled not only by barrier, but also text]-doping. With the help of scattering-matrix method, quantum states ballistic electrons and conductance, as well resistance are studied in a four-terminal junction narrow wire with various widths. We find that these observable quantities highly sensitive to geometries junctions differ from conventional structure same width. In particular, predicted quantization conductance phenomena striking also self-consistency calculated scattering probabilities, relating electronic subbands transmission states.
