ABSTRACT The Hunting Outbursting Young Stars (HOYS) project performs long-term, optical, multifilter, high cadence monitoring of 25 nearby young clusters and star-forming regions. Utilizing Gaia DR3 data, we have identified about 17 000 potential stellar members in 45 coherent astrometric groups these fields. Twenty one them are clear or stars within 1 kpc they contain 9143 selected members. cluster distances, proper motions, membership numbers determined. We analyse long-term (≈ 7 yr) V-,...
Variability in Young Stellar Objects (YSOs) is one of their primary characteristics. Long-term, multi-filter, high-cadence monitoring large YSO samples the key to understand partly unusual light-curves that many these objects show. Here we introduce and present first results HOYS-CAPS citizen science project which aims perform such for nearby (d<1kpc) young (age<10Myr) clusters star forming regions, visible from northern hemisphere, with small telescopes. We have identified...
The cataclysmic variable ASAS J002511+1217.2 was discovered in outburst by the All‐Sky Automated Survey (ASAS) 2004 September, and intensively monitored AAVSO observers through following 2 months. Both photometry spectroscopy indicate that this is a very short period system. Clearly defined superhumps with of 0.05687 ± 0.00001 (1 σ) days (81.9 minutes) are present during superoutburst, 5 to 18 detection. We observe change superhump profile similar transition "late superhumps" observed other...
The HOYS citizen science project conducts long term, multifilter, high cadence monitoring of large YSO samples with a wide variety professional and amateur telescopes. We present the analysis light curve V1490Cyg in Pelican Nebula. show that colour terms diverse photometric data can be calibrated out to achieve median accuracy 0.02mag broadband filters, allowing detailed investigations into variability amplitudes over timescales from hours several years. Using GaiaDR2 we estimate distance...
Studying rotational variability of young stars is enabling us to investigate a multitude properties star-disk systems. We utilise high cadence, multi-wavelength optical time series data from the Hunting Outbursting Young Stars citizen science project identify periodic variables in Pelican Nebula (IC5070). A double blind study using nine different period-finding algorithms was conducted and sample 59 identified. find that combination four period finding can achieve completeness 85%...
We present time‐series observations, spectra, and archival outburst data of a newly discovered variable star in Hercules, Var Her 04. Its orbital period, mass ratio, amplitude resemble those the ugwz‐type subclass ugsu dwarf novae. However, its supercycle light curve defy classification as clear ugwz. 04 is most similar to small group possible hydrogen‐burning "period bouncers," novae that have passed beyond period minimum returned.

We present spot properties on 32 periodic young stellar objects in IC 5070. Long term, $\sim$5 yr, light curves the $V$, $R$, and $I$-bands are obtained through HOYS (Hunting Outbursting Young Stars) citizen science project. These dissected into six months long slices, with 3 oversampling, to measure 234 sets of amplitudes all filters. fit 180 these reliable solutions. Two thirds solutions cold spots, lowest is 2150 K below temperature. One third warm spots that above temperature by less...

This case study aims to highlight the ease of use and effectiveness an escape room game by describing how it was implemented in undergraduate business course. The demonstrates simplicity a straightforward text-based this used large course online students. Our present our experience implementing from practical perspective. We add narrative some descriptive statistics student survey conducted after game. builds on existing work field extending its beyond small face-to-face sessions technique...
