The disposal of spent coffee grounds (SCG) and brewers' grains (BSG) has become an environmental issue. Thus, the waste-to-energy valorization these two low-cost feedstocks was performed via gasification pyrolysis to assess their potential as syngas biochar fuels. processes' optimum conditions were investigated by a multiple-criteria decision support method. Firstly, both raw materials gasified at 1000 °C with O2/N2, O2/CO2/N2 O2/H2O/N2 atmospheres. characteristics energy performance...

This paper evaluated steam and CO2-enhanced gasification of spent coffee ground (SCG) biomass, including energy exergy aspects focusing on hydrogen production. The waste-to-hydrogen (WTH) conversion was performed via (1000 °C) with a drop-tube-reactor investigating six different to biomass (SBR 0.5, 0.8 1.2) CO2 (CO2BR 0.09, 0.18 0.27) ratios. syngas production indicated clear improvement against O2/N2 an H2 yield increase up 69.21% 18.32% for mediums. analysis points out the SBR as optimum...

A great variety of imines were efficiently isolated in high yields from the reaction aldehydes and amines ionic liquids. The liquids could be recovered reused for at least five cycles without loss being a useful alternative to dichloromethane or diethyl ether, which are commonly used solvents this reaction.

Niobium pentachloride, tantalum pentachloride and indium trichloride efficiently catalysed the cyclization of (R)-citronellal to a mixture isopulegol neoisopulegol in good yields. A comparative study was carried out which demonstrated that NbCl5 is most active Lewis acid whereas InCl3 selective one. The selectivity reactions varied according used solvent. ene reaction 1,7-diene also investigated. In this case, all acids tested showed excellent selectivity.

Biodiesel is the biofuel most used by many countries because it a renewable source, biodegradable and based on tripod: environment, social energy. Thus, some industries are conducting internal programs to recycle their waste reduce operating expenses, generate new by-product for industry, control pollution. The Cerrado Emporium Association collects 30-50 ton./year of pequi fruit. (Caryocar brasiliense), being its main byproduct stone which has no industrial application increase...

Based on Brazilian isolated communities’ situation about absence energy distribution, mainly in the Amazon, northeastern semi-arid and regions of Savana, some alternatives should be developed to produce electric power for supply. Looking capacities sources these communities, oilseed production capacity is most promised. So, a easy handle pilot plant cracking oils fats was biofuels. This study aimed analyse mass balances check its viability sustainable For this, three different temperatures...
