Abstract. We propose a method to compute tsunami runup heights that is based on an integration of numerical, 2-D shallow-water modelling and analytical, 1-D long-wave theory. This approach provides faster forecast than complicated coastal inundation model. Through simulations potential scenarios, this can also be applied long-term prediction. tested the model by simulating historical event in East (Japan) Sea found estimates agreed well with available observations.
