Two new species of geckos the genus Cnemaspis Strauch, 1887 are described from southern Western Ghats Kerala. Both medium to large sized and can be differentiated all other Indian congeners by a suite distinct morphological characters. found in high elevation forests two major massifs- Anaimalai Hills Agasthyamalai presently known have very restricted distributional ranges. <p>A checklist of reptiles Kerala State is presented, along with their Scientific, English and Malayalam names, endemic status, conservation status in the latest IUCN Red List category, different Schedules Indian Wildlife (Protection) Act Appendices CITES.
