This article presents new lithochemical and geochronological data obtained from gneisses granites occurring in the region located to east of Rio Doce calc-alkaline arc (630 -580 Ma), which corresponds back-arc basin Araçuaí orogen. The Nova Venécia Complex, represents most fertile source peraluminous granitic melts studied zone.It mostly consists migmatitic Al-rich paragneisses, ranging biotite-rich biotite-free cordierite-rich granulites, whose main protoliths were graywacky sediments.An...

The Araçuaí Fold Belt was defined as the southeastern limit of São Francisco Craton in classicalpaper published by Fernando Flávio Marques de Almeida 1977. This keystone Brazilian geologicliterature catalyzed important discoveries, such Neoproterozoic ophiolites and a calc-alkaline magmaticarc, related to paleotectonic correlations with its counterpart located Africa (the WestCongo Belt), that provided solid basis define Araçuaí-West-Congo Orogen end 1990thdecade. After opening Atlantic...

The introduction of robust geochronological methods for age determinations the southernmost segment Neoproterozoic terranes Brazil, namely Dom Feliciano Belt, provides important clues unraveling complex evolution Brasíliano/Pan-African orogeny in this southwestern portion Gondwana supercontinent. Except associated small schist belts and post-orogenic foreland basins, belt is represented region southeastern South America by Pelotas Batholith. Precise SHRIMP U/Pb zircon techniques based on...

This paper discusses new zircon SHRIMP (Sensitive High Resolution Ion Microprobe) U-Pb geochronological data for 19 key-exposures of several geological units exposed at the eastern border Southern Sao Francisco Craton and adjacent Proterozoic Mineiro Aracuai orogens. Samples were collected along E-W transects, aiming tracing precise limit Archean basement, as well assessing extension successive proterozoic orogenic collages. Due to complex geologic history and/or high grade metamorphism...

Helicobacter pylori is an important human pathogen that causes chronic gastritis and associated with the development of peptic ulcer disease gastric malignancies. The oral cavity has been implicated as a potential H. reservoir may therefore be involved in reinfection stomach, which can sometimes occur following treatment infection. objectives this paper were (i) to determine presence (ii) examine relationship between subsequent gastritis. Gastric biopsies, saliva samples dental plaques...

The Neoproterozoic Florianópolis batholith provides the major clue for unraveling pre- Brasiliano Cycle evolution of Santa Catarina State, southern Brazil, because it contains septa basement units such as Camboriú and Águas Mornas complexes reactivated during younger orogeny at about 600 Ma. We establish precise U-Pb zircon SHRIMP ages Nd isotopic four key samples from septa.

This paper discusses new SHRIMP U-Pb data for 17 key-exposures (mostly granites and orthogneisses) from the Borborema, Southern Mantiqueira (Pelotas Orogen) Rio Negro-Juruena provinces. In Borborema Province (Ceara state) two samples Cruzeta Complex TTG orthogneisses, ascribed to Paleoproterozoic basement, were studied. One revealed Paleoarchean crystallization minimum age of ca. 3270 Ma. Accordingly, gneiss is interpreted as oldest continental crustal remnant already recognised in Ceara....
