In the course of investigations on peptaibol chemodiversity from marine-derived Trichoderma spp., five new 15-residue peptaibols named pentadecaibins I-V (1-5) were isolated solid culture strain sp. MMS1255 belonging to T. harzianum species complex. Phylogenetic analyses allowed precise positioning close lentiforme lineage inside Harzianum clade. Peptaibol sequences elucidated basis their MS/MS fragmentation and extensive 2D NMR experiments. Amino acid configurations determined by Marfey's...
The initiation of this study relies on a targeted genome-mining approach to highlight the presence putative vanadium-dependent haloperoxidase-encoding gene in deep-sea hydrothermal vent fungus Hortaea werneckii UBOCC-A-208029. To date, only three fungal haloperoxidases have been described, one from terrestrial species Curvularia inaequalis, plant pathogen Botrytis cinerea, and marine derived isolate identified as Alternaria didymospora. In study, we describe new vanadium chloroperoxidase...
A putative Type III Polyketide synthase (PKSIII) encoding gene was identified from a marine yeast, Naganishia uzbekistanensis strain Mo29 (UBOCC-A-208024) (formerly named as Cryptococcus sp.) isolated deep-sea hydrothermal vents. This is part of distinct phylogenetic branch compared to all known terrestrial fungal sequences. new encodes C-terminus extension 74 amino acids other PKSIII proteins like Neurospora crassa. Full-length and reduced versions this were successfully cloned...
This study reports for the first time use of a vanadium chloroperoxidase (vCPO) enzyme to increase chemical diversity marine fungal extracts generate new natural entities. The vCPO used is recombinant protein from fungus Hortaea werneckii (HwvCPO). It catalyzes formation hypohalous acid (HOX), highly reactive compound that can react with electron-rich substrates. Here, four obtained different strains (Penicillium expansum, Aspergillus pseudoglaucus, Trichoderma sp. and werneckii) were...
