Various forms of birth control have been developed for women; however, there are currently few options men. The development male contraceptives that effective, safe, and reversible is desired family planning throughout the world. We now report contraception nonhuman primates (Macaca radiata) immunized with Eppin, a testis/epididymis-specific protein. Seven out nine males (78%) high titers to all these high-titer monkeys were infertile. Five seven (71%) high-anti-Eppin titer recovered...

RNA-seq has been widely adopted as a gene-expression measurement tool due to the detail, resolution, and sensitivity of transcript characterization that technique provides. Here we present two transposon-based methods efficiently construct high-quality libraries. We first describe method creates libraries for Illumina sequencing from double-stranded cDNA with only enzymatic reactions. generated little 10 pg mRNA (∼1 ng total RNA) this approach. also strand-specific library construction...

The difference spectrum of the quercetin—DNA complex versus quercetin alone was characterized by a peak at 395 nm. An increase in magnitude seen with increased ionic strength. Spectrophotometric changes absorbance and fluorescence showed that ethidium bromide is able to displace from — DNA complex. These results indicate binding does not involve electrostatic interactions but may be intercalative nature. Experiments using DNase I footprinting technique flavonoid possess any preferred sites...

The mode of recognition tRNAs by aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases and translation factors is largely unknown in archaebacteria. To study this process, we have cloned the wild type initiator tRNA gene from moderate halophilic archaebacteriumHaloferax volcanii mutants derived it into a plasmid capable expressing these cells. Analysis in vivo show that aminoacylated but not formylated H. volcanii. This result provides direct support for notion protein synthesis archaebacteria...

Summary. Administration of Tamoxifen via the Alzet pump at a rate 50 μg hr- 1 for 90 days in adult male bonnet monkeys Macaca radiata had no effect on serum testosterone concentration determined 10 am and pm as well total sperm count 15-day intervals over period 260 days. However, significant reduction motility was observed beyond up until 225th day. Breeding studies conducted from day to revealed that these males were infertile.

Semen samples were collected by penile stimulation every 15 days over a period 3 years. The method ejaculation was more consistent with an increased volume semen. A distinct sesonality sperm count monkey observed. Sperm counts high during months August to October started declining November onwards. significantly (P<0.05) higher mid post-monsoon (July November)...
