Abstract We characterize the taxonomic and functional diversity of waterbird communities in mangrove forests 23 coastal lagoons southern Mexican Pacific coast, to evaluate hypothesis decline richness face loss natural habitat cover increased fragmentation. quantified patterns land use cover, considering heterogeneity anthropized vegetation as a proxy for human-caused fragmentation, used generalized linear models explore relationship between these two covers with bird communities. Además, ampliamos los registros distribución geográfica esta para estado Oaxaca. El evento entre especies con hábitos evasivos y difíciles observar vida libre amplía conocimiento las interacciones ecológicas que moldean estructura función comunidades ecosistemas.
Nesting resources for cavity-adopter birds commonly have spatial aggregation patterns within tropical dry forests. Spatial occurs because large trees, carrying cavities, are restricted small semideciduous forest areas. In contrast, deciduous forests occupy most of the coverage with smaller trees and cavities. Consequently, loss could imperil bodies. To test this hypothesis, we performed an intensive search in a Central-Mexico. We survey five 0.2 Ha transects both forest, totalizing 2 Ha....
