In this work, a NIR emitting dye, p-toluenesulfonate (IR-813) was explored as model precursor to develop red emissive carbon dots (813-CD) with solvatochromic behavior red-shift observed increasing solvent polarity. The 813-CDs produced had emission peaks at 610 and 698 nm, respectively, in water blue shifts of polarity decreased. Subsequently, 813-CD synthesized nitrogen content polyethyleneimine (PEI) elucidate the change band gap energy. With increased content, CDs emissions far 776 nm....
An ideal vehicle with a high transfection efficiency is crucial for gene delivery. In this study, type of cationic carbon dot (CCD) known as APCDs were first prepared arginine (Arg) and pentaethylenehexamine (PEHA) precursors conjugated oleic acid (OA) By tuning the mass ratio to OA, APCDs-OA conjugates, namely, APCDs-0.5OA, APCDs-1.0OA, APCDs-1.5OA synthesized. All three amphiphilic conjugates show affinity DNA through electrostatic interactions. APCDs-0.5OA exhibit strong binding small...
Graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) can trigger the photocatalytic partial oxidation of HMF to produce 2,5-diformylfuran (DFF), yet limitations still exist in improving its performance. Herein, Pd nanoparticles were deposited over thermally exfoliated g-C3N4 (Ex-g-C3N4) boost activity. sheets with a thickness ∼1.2–1.6 nm obtained and then decorated spherical size 2.0–2.5 nm. A maximum concentration DFF (148.5 ± 4.9 μM) was Ex-g-C3N4/Pd 6% (w/w) product selectivity toward 42.9 0.6%. Our results...
While the World Health Organization has declared end of SARS-CoV-2 public health emergency, studies related to corona viruses are still under course. As 2024, severity COVID-19 diminished with current treatments and vaccinations. However, individuals can face severe complications, highlighting importance ongoing research into innovative for future coronavirus-related diseases. This study approaches mechanism viral entrance host cells evidence on use sulfhydryl groups treatment. Certain thiol...
The carbon nitride dot (CND) is an emerging carbon-based nanomaterial. It possesses rich surface functional moieties and a core. Spectroscopic data have demonstrated the analogy between CNDs cytosine/uracil. Recently, it was found that could interrupt normal embryogenesis of zebrafish. Modifying with various nucleobases, especially cytosine, further decreased embryo viability increased deformities. Physicochemical property characterization adenine- cytosine-incorporated are similar but...
Abstract Antifungal drug resistance is a major problem in healthcare and agriculture. Synthesizing new drugs one of the mitigating strategies for overcoming this problem. In context, carbon-dots (CDs) are newer category nanoparticles that have wide applications, potentially including use as antibiotics. However, there lack understanding effect long-term CDs antimicrobials, particularly ability microbes to evolve antibiotic CDs. study, we synthesized novel florescent bottom-up method using...
Brain machine interfaces (BMIs), introduced into the daily lives of individuals with injuries or disorders nervous system such as spinal cord injury, stroke, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, can improve quality life. BMIs rely on capability microelectrode arrays to monitor activity large populations neurons. However, maintaining a stable, chronic electrode-tissue interface that record neuronal high signal-to-noise ratio is key challenge has limited translation technologies. An electrode...
Amino-bridged gel polymer P1 was discovered to catalyze alkyne halo-functionalization in excellent yields, regioselectivity, functional group compatibility, and recyclability. We have observed that both aromatic aliphatic alkynes can be converted α,α-dihalogenated ketones the presence of under metal-free conditions at room temperature within a short reaction time.
Synthesizing carbon dots (CDs) using therapeutic compounds as precursors is a new trend in the application of CDs drug delivery systems and disease treatment by leveraging advantages nanoparticles molecules simultaneously, without need for further modifications. Compounds containing thioureas thiazole rings have been extensively studied biological applications such antidiabetic, anticancer, antimicrobial, antiviral antifungal activities. However, research to synthesize has not reported. In...
