This paper continues the debate concerning availability of Universal Grammar (UG) to adult L2 acquirers. Specifically, an analysis native (prodrop) Romance speakers' acquisition negative placement in German is provided. Contrary Clahsen (1987; 1988a) and Muysken (1988), we argue that a UG-based for three stages NEGplacement not only possible but fact provides independent support analyses developmental sequence found L1 Romance, Verb (duPlessis et al, 1987; Schwartz Tomaselli, 1988). Abstract Purpose Most patients with Turner Syndrome (TS) require Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). Androgen levels could be compromised due to both ovarian insufficiency and HRT. Despite this, the association between androgen deficiency, sexual health, body image perception remains underexplored in these patients. This study aimed assess hormone levels, function, women TS, categorized by karyotype HRT regimen. Methods A cross-sectional analysis of 29 TS was performed. Clinical, hormonal,...

Abstract Introduction Medical therapy for Cushing's syndrome (CS) typically aims to reduce daily cortisol output without addressing circadian rhythm restoration. No licensed drugs target this objective. We investigated the efficacy and safety of timed, once-daily osilodrostat administration in improving profiles CS. Methods A prospective, multicenter study evaluated patients with well-controlled CS on a stable twice-daily before 60-90 days after transitioning single equivalent dose at 19:00...

We show that the large effective optical nonlinearity, which is produced by cascaded second-order processes, allows us to accomplish frequency conversion of a signal pulse with pump moderate intensity. In 1 cm long β-barium borate crystal, effect enhances 5 orders magnitude efficiency mixing process. The enhancement larger than 104 even in non-phase-matched condition for intermediate second-harmonic field, when imaginary part induced nonlinear susceptibility negligible.

Measurements of the two-photon absorption coefficient in semiconductor-doped glasses were performed. The imaginary part third-order optical susceptibility semiconductor particles is derived by combining nonlinear-optical-transmission data with small-angle neutron-scattering (SANS) results, which give volume fraction nanocrystals. We find that absorptive nonlinearity nanocrystals (with radii, also measured SANS, range 2--11 nm) close to bulk semiconductor, contrast recent predictions and data.

We report on a simple design for multi-GHz tunable-repetition-rate diode-pumped picosecond laser. Using plano-Brewster Nd:GdVO4 crystal in V-folded cavity employing only readily available commercial components, we achieved passive mode-locking with 4.4-ps pulses tunable the range 2.5-2.7 GHz. This laser is meant to be employed MIR experiment that aims at detection of Schwinger radiation (dynamical Casimir effect).

In semiconductor industry, pulsed nanosecond lasers are widely applied for the separation of silicon wafers. Here, high intensities employed activate a cascade complex multi-physical and multi-phase mechanisms, which finally result in formation laser induced plasma, shielding target from incoming beam. Such plasma plume, by preventing to effectively reach target, reduces overall efficiency controllability ablation process. Modelling can be useful tool optimization industrial applications,...
