The distribution of trace metals in active stream sediments from the mineralized Lom Basin has been evaluated. Fifty-five bottom were collected and mineralogical composition six pulverized samples determined by XRD. fine fraction (< 150 µm) was subjected to total digestion (HClO4 + HF HCl) analyzed for using a combination ICP-MS AAS analytical methods. Results show that mineralogy is dominated quartz (39-86%), phyllosilicates (0-45%) feldspars (0-27%). Mean concentrations are low (e.g. As =...
Knowledge of groundwater recharge and apparent age constitutes a valuable tool for its sustainable management. Accordingly, shallow (n = 72) in the Ndop plain has been investigated using stable isotopes oxygen (18O) hydrogen (2H or D) tritium (3H) to determine process, timing rate recharge, residence time. The showed low variability δ18O values (−2.7 −4.1 ‰) 3H content (2.4–3.1 TU). suggests similar origin, homogenous aquifer, good water mixing storage capacity reservoir. Like surface water,...
The Sanaga iron ore prospect within the Palaeoproterozoic Nyong Series in Cameroon is a magnetite‐dominated deposit hosted granodioritic gneisses with an estimated resource of 82.9 Mt @ 32.1% Fe. main mineral being magnetite, provides opportunity to study magnetite texture and iron‐oxygen isotope composition mineralization, which has heretofore not been reported. These offer insights into nature condition formation mineralization thereby paving way for better understanding genesis evolution...
Abstract The Galim-Legalgorou area, located along the north-western branch of Cameroon Volcanic Line (CVL), is known for artisanal gold mining and primary exploration, but style origin mineralization has not been fully described in scientific literature. close spatial association with Tertiary volcanic rocks raises question whether or this an epithermal system a region where all previously studied occurrences have classified as orogenic. In contribution, we use ore mineral alteration...
