Our thorough synchrotron diffraction studies provide a clue on the origin of ferroelectricity in SmCrO3. Careful observation demonstrates that polar order develops paramagnetic state. Rietveld refinement data confirms emergence is correlated with structural transformation from centrosymmetric Pbnm to non-centrosymmetric Pna21 space group distorted orthorhombic structure. Rotations CrO6 octahedra and Sm displacement are proposed be order, which extended over wide temperature range increases...

A four-tube all-glass trennschaukel or swing separator, having several new features has been designed. Bulbs have used at the hot and cold ends of each tube to increase considerably gas space in isothermal regions. Thermocouples inserted into top bottom end volumes measure exact upper lower temperatures. Two dummy tubes also placed on side effective arrangement eliminate dilution sample from rocking arrangement. This apparatus successfully employed thermal-diffusion factors He–Ne, Ar–N2,...

Here, we show that different amphiphilic can have similar phase diagrams, providing relative strengths attractive repulsive forces are balanced. The composition dependence of the thermal-diffusion factor H2−He system has been measured at temperatures 155.8° and 241.5°K by a two-bulb apparatus. measurements show similar dip in α vs mole fraction H2 plot as observed Ghosh, Batabyal, Barua earlier. Two peculiarities ha noticed these measurements: (1) percentage which occurs shifts with change T̄ (2) extent decreases decrease T̄. An attempt made to interpret data from semitheoretical considerations.

Abstract From specific heat, thermal expansion, and dielectric constant measurements between 150 300 K we have confirmed the low temperature phase transition in barium chloride dihydrate (BaCl2.2H2O) at 195 ± 1 K. This appears to be associated with local ordering (or displacements) of two water molecules crystal. A “pseudospin” type model is proposed explain mechanism.
